Rick, are you telling porkies again? Downhill all the way with 650ft of climbing!:huh:
Tis but a blip in the downwards trend. MAN UP!^_^

4 seconds Rick? Are you serious?
Yup!:becool: Was struggling but held on just about. If you improve any further I won't get near your tines though!
Looks like it's now accepted  but the league doesn't show it yet

May I join your Bkool party?
:bicycle:

Of course you may Skye Rider. :welcome:

We have two pretty good leagues on the go at the moment. Handicap Chase & Chain Gang. I'd suggest you start by requesting to join these though the bkool website. And make sure you post here what your bkool name is.

I don't think I could improve on that time, on that run. That was with AAAC giving me a bit of a tow too. Good effort though, these sessions are so hard when you are right at the edge of your ability, which is where I always am nowadays, never anytime to cruise or ease up.

Since the purchase of my Turbo trainer i have now suffered a couple of "injuries" to my shoulder/neck area.

Today i had to go to the medical centre to get what i thought was a torn neck muscle sorted and it ended up being both shouler muscles being completely cramped up causing all the pain in my neck, after 20 minutes of the Dr beating crap out of me i now feel almost right again.

I usually make sure i warm up before and after a ride but maybe need to incorperate more shoulder type stuff before and after each session? Has anyone else suffered from this type of condition since taking up turbo trainer work as i never get this when i am out in the "real world" riding.

Alfie, I cant remember where I see it, I think it was someone on here had a similar problem,
I believe they off set their handlebars off central whilst on the trainer and changed from slightly left to slightly right on different rides and that seemed to help?

I was thinking of raising the bars a bit while on the trainer as i don't need the aerodynamics and a more upright style could help, cheers Bert

I have tri bars on mine now, and that gives me a change of position when a pain starts up so I tend to swap every few minutes. I wouldn't go back to turboing without them.
The problem isn't whilst i am actually riding (well, not that i can tell anyway) and to be fair i feel fine when i get off the bike, it's just that afterwards the shoulders cramp up and decide to hurt whenever they want.

I am/was opposite. When I got into cycling a few years ago, late 40s. I tried to get more aero by getting lower and lower on the bars, straining my neck, culminating in me trapping a nerve in my neck at the start of Suffolk sunrise 100. I lost feeling in my right arm initially, but came back to just aching. I took some brufen and did the event., daft bugger. I had physio, but was eventually helped by having root nerve injection of steroids in the neck vertebrae. I still have to watch my neck posture., but now I know the signs.

id it only occurs when you're on the bike

Sounds like you need a new bike Alfie!

Or what the sensible people said... You could try flipping your stem. Or maybe raise the front of the bike a bit more. Is the problem exclusive to the turbo or riding in general? It's definately a good idea to change position from time to time.

My 'best bike' is much more aggressive than my others and I find I need to make sure my weight is well distributed to avoid aches and pains in various places.
