Wow! that was tough. For some reason I thought I had the upper hand about 3/4 way through but LB kicked my 4ss at the end. I feel used .
I thought I would maybe get a better match between legs and heart if I could keep the rpms down a little, so I had a 52/11 gearing today.
Not sure it worked. That was a ridiculously tough session. 100% is says, and a 100% it felt.
We had a great drafting/battle going on there, and apparently both clinging on by the tip of our nails.

Great watching the race tonight. @Goldwolfie was on fire. Fought really hard to hold @Breedon off who pushed him all the way to the line and nearly had him at the very end. Great riding guys!

Thanks for the encouragement Worty, especially over the last mile or so.

That's definitely the hardest I've pushed myself over the closing stages. There was never more than 30 seconds between @Breedon and myself, with my additional weight making the difference on the downhill sections.

I enjoyed it but it was a lot tougher than I expected - but I really should have known better.

Of course you may Skye Rider. :welcome:

We have two pretty good leagues on the go at the moment. Handicap Chase & Chain Gang. I'd suggest you start by requesting to join these though the bkool website. And make sure you post here what your bkool name is.
Will look at the leagues tomorrow
My Bkool name is Skyerider

52/11 would probably work well on that course because there weren't many blue numbers that I could remember seeing. When we got to the point where you kept breaking away, I was able to get back at you each time (until I couldn't) and just hoped you were hurting as much as I was. I think I was at 94% which was much more than usual for me on a downhill. I must admit I had hoped the battle would commence right at the end but what you did worked perfectly to leave me exhausted and without much fight left in me when I needed it most. Well done on your win Lars.

Did exactly the same myself.
Well that's turned the league on its head!
I won on average power though, small consolation.
I am regretting coasting in on the other session even more now as I have a hard task ahead of me to get time back on you both.
Drafting just is not working for me and it's really frustrating. I work my proverbials off trying to get back to you both and as soon as I try and tuck in for the descent you just ride past me and I get no assistance from the little squirely drafting waves and sometimes its almost like others get a drag out of me which helps them go past. That's why I had to leave Rick behind as I thought we could work together but his slipstream gave me nothing.
Good tip, don't eat cheese and onion and drink full milk latte half an hour before a session. I spent the first half of the session keeping it down and belching a lot, quite off putting. (I had the day off messing with the car replacing the dampers and forgot it was Thursday).

It was good to watch you both fight it out, your Heart rates were pretty much identical

Just shows the querks of bkool, my session was littered with blue numbers and only stayed white long enough on the small inclines to apply power. I tried to hold back on the blue numbers but always felt that at any moment they could turn white and I would miss out on pushing on

Blimey that was hard, not only did Add spring the opportunity on me at 6:55pm after i had just eaten my tea but my legs are still twitching from the 1st attempt at this and that stupid, effing roller coaster (which by the way was marked easy???????). So 3 tough rides for me in 5 days -my tea came up a few times, my legs would NOT allow me to get out of the saddle and when i finished i literally had the shakes for a good few minutes into the run (you all do a brick run after biking dont you?).
Thanks for your support (i prob missed some as the sweat was dripping into my eyes so i kept them shut for a while)
Was trying not to get jealous as one by one you 'dropped out' leaving me all alone especially as i was not afforded the same waitress service that I generously give to Add when he is taking part.
Well done folks..... Was looking forward to my 5k tomorrow but now I will just be delighted to wake up.

Yup it's quirky as anything. Even what you see on the screen when you're live is sometimes not what you see when its being video'd by someone. So it's even possible that when you watch the vid to check something like blue numbers or power or even distances, it might be different. I've seen 700watts live then 24 watts on the replay, admittedly at the height of it's quirkiness. Today I even saw some riders up front near the start that just shouldn't have been there. I got a draft from them though so all good.:tongue:

Not sure where you're taking the refreshments to, because I'm not getting them! Not sure that tea and scones would assist my assault on Bridgy either really, it tends to be a pretty focused affair.
But good effort m'dear, knocked the spots off your last attempt. Throw you into a handicap next, then you'll feel the burn!

Not going to defend myself in public but..... I regularly respond to cries of can you fill my bottle? Can you turn the fan up? Can you get me some squash? Tea? Nope dont think i can keep anything down yet....

I did see blue but I dont ease off as it rarely stays blue for long and if i pedal harder i can usually get it back to white and achieve a faster speed. Not sure i get sling shots either and doubt I'll bother as there are no such glitches in real life. If i put my own ghost on could i 'draft myself' and then save some beans for a quicker finish??
