i haven't mastered the downhill sections, if I back off and allow the speed to turn blue I either get dropped or the person behind me closes in on me - tonight I pretty much get the power going all through the ride, hence the avg heart rate of 172bpm ...

Blimey that was hard, not only did Add spring the opportunity on me at 6:55pm after i had just eaten my tea

That was probably worse than my latte and cheese and onion crisps

but my legs are still twitching from the 1st attempt at this and that stupid, effing roller coaster (which by the way was marked easy???????). So 3 tough rides for me in 5 days -my tea came up a few times,

my legs would NOT allow me to get out of the saddle and when i finished i literally had the shakes for a good few minutes

I assume that is not akin to the stories of women riding horses (shame on me for asking)

into the run (you all do a brick run after biking dont you?).

Please explain a brick run, does that require a hod and some ladders

Thanks for your support (i prob missed some as the sweat was dripping into my eyes so i kept them shut for a while)

Buy a sweat band, I wear glasses and it's a must!

Was trying not to get jealous as one by one you 'dropped out' leaving me all alone especially as i was not afforded the same waitress service that I generously give to Add when he is taking part.
Well done folks..... Was looking forward to my 5k tomorrow but now I will just be delighted to wake up.

Did exactly the same myself.
Well that's turned the league on its head!
I won on average power though, small consolation.
I am regretting coasting in on the other session even more now as I have a hard task ahead of me to get time back on you both.
Drafting just is not working for me and it's really frustrating. I work my proverbials off trying to get back to you both and as soon as I try and tuck in for the descent you just ride past me and I get no assistance from the little squirely drafting waves and sometimes its almost like others get a drag out of me which helps them go past. That's why I had to leave Rick behind as I thought we could work together but his slipstream gave me nothing.
Good tip, don't eat cheese and onion and drink full milk latte half an hour before a session. I spent the first half of the session keeping it down and belching a lot, quite off putting. (I had the day off messing with the car replacing the dampers and forgot it was Thursday).

Its going to be hard for either you or me to win now. I would always be relying on drafting to take a win on that stage but it would be tactically nonsensical for you to draft with me or me to draft with Lars. I need over 40 seconds and you need even more.
It seems you need to try and get your lack of drafting sorted. I'm pretty sure I get a decent draft from you when I can avoid getting sucked in so fast I go flying past. I can't draft ghosts though. That just doesn't seem to work.
Big effect though when it means we go that much faster with that much lower w/kg. Worth a quick email to bkool?

The next Chaingang hopefully will be an opportunity for us mid pack riders to group together, 5/6/7 of us and try and draft to stay in touch with the fast fellas?

Pipe up who wants to try
Me.

If you are including me at the back.

Edit - I'm away from next Wednesday for 2 weeks so I'wont be able to hinder you.

AAAC - Haha no horse riding in our house but while Add spends a huge proportion of uphills standing up to pedal my wee legs were burning and twitching whenever i tried tonight so had to sit and grind it out. As for brick sessions, I am (well should be) following my ironman training schedule and need to practice running off the bike so i generally jump off the turbo and leg it up and down the estate a few times at least.
Bridgy - i am not sure i have the stomach for the league.... It is killing me and i am last by a mile!

I am relieved with your response to the brick session thing as I had wrongly assumed it involved a WC plus I admit that the horse riding thing was below the belt (no pun intended). However my hope is that with his continuing rise in fitness that Add can make your legs shake every now and then.

Morning all

I'm up for trying drafting whenever you guys are.

I was planning to do the chaingang ride today Soarer but maybe early / mid afternoon. Is that any good for you bud?

I've gotten a puncture on both of my last 2 turbo sessions. Considering I've had one puncture in the last year in the 'real world' it's a bit mad. The first was my fault. I'm using an old tire on my turbo wheel and a piece of imbedded glass I hadn't noticed had pushed through to the inner tube. The 2nd i haven't really looked at yet as I only realised I'd got it when wheeling the bike out for the morning commute.

Just shows you're not even safe in your own home from the dreaded puncture goblin!
