I've just done yesterday's chaingang ride. Or should I say I've just done the route but managed to do it outside the chaingang... :cursing:

Picking ghosts and making sure it is the official ride at the same time is apparently too much for my brain to handle... Bit gutted.
Do a short 1-2 minute test ride in the league and advise the admins here of the time you did on the completed ride. They should be able to edit your test ride time to the completed ride time

That is ofcourse assuming you don't want to do the chaingang ride again

I can't actually say my exact time boxer. It's saying 59 mins but I did it in 53 something so I guess that's including the warm up / down.

I'm sort of over it to be honest. My sulks only last a couple of minutes at best! It'll make me push harder tomorrow I reckon.

Did the chain gang stage 3 ride this morning, added a few ghosts so apologies to a couple of people who might have received emails  Shoulder starting aching just over half way and I notice I had started to tighten the grip on the handlebars so had to ease off and let insomina get away from me a bit (40 seconds or so). With about a mile to go I thought I might be able to catch back up, but not quite, ended up just 3 seconds behind, felt better in the second half of the ride than the first.
Glad to know I just beat you.
Thats me in full health and you with a broken shoulder. Great.

Tommy you did it in 53.23. Your results is in Ranking tab. I don't know how to get it onto Chaingang table. I think there is a little benefit in knowing how hard you need to go chasing ghosts. I might try it out. It looks like my Thursday evenings will be taken by early 7 TTs now so I'll have to do Chaingang either on Friday/Saturdays from now on.

I would agree, I seem to go better when you have a target time of someone else's time - out of interest, if you use ghosts can you draft ?

In a strange way you're right andy. Not only the ghosts I could see but the one I couldn't. Monte and insomnia weren't far behind me for much of the run so that pushed me on. But I suppose that'd be the same if it had been a live race. I think more relevant, your ghost didn't show up. I couldn't remember what time you'd put up but I knew it was a good 1, so I pushed all the way to the line. I was also trying to level up so that helped too.

Racing/Riding with someone for me is massive. I had a differnce in time of 8 mins on the last hanicapp. My first time was chasing/being chased the other 2 I rode the whole race by myself. I just get a bit bored and realise I am crusing after a while.
Maybe I am lazy but its a fact.

This is where I think drafting is great.
Not for the actual drafting (but that might help) but the chasing, being pushed aspect.

Team work.

Tommy: Boxers is perfectly correct - just do a few seconds even of the chaingang and then send me a message with your actual time and I'll adjust it for the league table.:okay:

@Monte - Yep, drafting ghosts does yeild the same luverly energy saving benefits! :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:

Sorry to those whos ghosts I just beat. Gailb doubley so as you had 2 times, sorry .

That was like the last stage of last months chaingang without the hill at the begining . Downhill but not by much :banghead:.

I think that the admin that chooses the stages should have ridden them first before deciding which to use. Then must attend and take part in the full stage. Both the Thursday main run and the Saturday rerun .

On a more positive note. I think I have found a good warm up session

http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/506549?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1

Nice gentle up slope for about a mile, a dip. Then a nice short sharp climb about 1/2 a mile. Then a nice gentle -0.5 to -2% slope to get the legs spinning. Another 1/2 mile climb. Then a gentle up slope to finish.

At least it was shaping up to be a good warm up. The pc crashed about half way through :cursing:. I was going to complete it in about 30 minutes :mrpig:. The quicker amongst us will probably be nearer 15 .

I tend to agree, which is why I think Stage 1 from this months Chain Gang might be a good one. Your time was 47:19 and AAAC was 33:14, so that fits perfectly.

I'm really looking for a flat finish to encourage a few sprints for the line! :hyper:

Initial handicaps looking something like this...

Geoff - I've just done Pico Peñas de Dios in 38:17. I'm not sure that I will be able to improve on it next Tuesday, but can you please work out a handicap for me so that I can give it a try?
Many thanks!
