LIVING THE DREAM
Not at all  - I am just busy socialising with family & being told off if I am seen looking at my phone!

(& beating myself up over those 4 seconds )

At least 4 seconds will be easier to make up than the 140+ I lost to Lars yesterday.
If my legs are feeling better tomorrow I will try and get 60 of them back but that will be a tall order however I do have a cunning plan that is proably just about within 'the rules' but involves my wife, a motorbike and a 'sticky bottle'.

Well I'm not even going to try and top my time. That run this evening wrecked me.

To my knowledge BKool trainers don't need to know your rolling wheel diameter which, seeing as we all use 700c wheels is down to your tyre size.
It may not need the info. But it does make use of it in other areas. There is a box for the wheel diameter, as well as chainring and cassette sizes, in bkool when setting up training plans iirc. It is used to set the work areas.
Your tyre simply rotates the roller and the circumference of the roller is 'the road'.
The quicker the road is moving the more power BSim indicates (relative to incline and weight etc = conditions).
It therefore baffles me that a tyre can change the power displayed for a given speed, person and conditions.
Not saying it doesn't, it just mystifies me a bit mathematically but I agree with Bill, if a certain tyre gives you more speed (forget power) then use it for leagues and shine brightly (be brill).
But as you say it does not affect speed then that is pointless other than giving better stat's but baffles me even more because BSim uses your speed and the conditions to calculate power and hence same speed and conditions should equal the same power.
Maybe it was badly written.

I have not compared speed from tyre size to size. I have compared speed from bsim to garmin on the same tyre size.

I am not that consistant or poweful enough, when pedalling, to be able to note down cadence, gear and speed. Then repeat it with little to no variation to do a direct tyre size comparison.

However my perceived effort on the smaller tyre is higher with a lower power reading, the 23 was inflated to its max of 140psi. I have not tried the 25 tyre yet so there may be a more accurate power comparison with only a slightly higher PE using a middle size tyre, a 25. This is comparing bsim power, to a set of vectors.

I hope that makes more sense

Real life ride today! As great as it was to get out 2 punctures ain't a good incentive to get out more!

Need to get some good tyres for outside. Any recommendations?
The classic options are Schwalbe Marathon Plus
http://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/marathon-plus.html
and Schwalbe Durano Plus
http://www.schwalbe.com/en/road-reader/durano-plus.html
but my favorite solution is a race tire (http://www.continental-tires.com/bicycle/tyres/race-tyres/grand-prix-4000-s2) with a plastic protection band (don't know what it's called in english)

I tend to agree, which is why I think Stage 1 from this months Chain Gang might be a good one. Your time was 47:19 and AAAC was 33:14, so that fits perfectly.

I'm really looking for a flat finish to encourage a few sprints for the line! :hyper:

Initial handicaps looking something like this...

42:46, which I guess will put met between Goldwolfie & Insomnia, which sounds about right.

Had a quick look at the ranking results of the 32mile flat stage coming up. There are many times around 1hr20 =24mph average. To do it 1hr10 needs just over 27mph average.

Surely a drafting Chaingang can get near to 27 mph?? I will have a little go over the first 10miles or so to see what power I will need at certain speeds in the next couple of days

I swapped to a turbo specific tyre as using a standard road tyre on a chaingang course, similar to last Thursday course (fast rolling) and the tyre must of got so hot it warped the tyre out of shape.

Small confession I swapped chain rings for Thursday's course, fitted a standard set up 53/39.

I like receiving the emails almost as much as sending them! All good banter and motivation. Definately one of bkool's plus points.

Monte what brand of turbo tyre was it that warped? Sounds like it's worth avoiding
