Glad to know I just beat you.
Thats me in full health and you with a broken shoulder. Great.
Shouldn't worry a broken Kipster and full health Insomnia beat me by 21 and 26 seconds respectively. Had I know you were that close I would have killed myself slightly more to get to you. Had a proper school cross country level stitch pretty well the whole 56 damn minutes.

I have a decatlon turbo tyre. A 23 I think. It is a lot harder to turn than a road tyre of the same size on the classic I have.

It seems to cause an under read on power on the bsim software. I have a 25 sized tyre that I want to test, as the 28 I use gives an over read on power.
If one gives an under read in power and one gives an over read then that will cause one to give an over read and under read in speed. I would consider that the 28 gives the correct read and the decathlon one gives an under read and therefore not good for fun and games like league rides. I'd stick with the tyre that gives the maximum power and speed readout if I were you.

Then I decided to go and look at cadence:

Adam:
average: 89
maximum: 132

Bill:
average: 124
maximum: 149

Lars
average: 108
maximum: 149

AAAC:
average: 96
maximum: 127

Looks like Lars higher gearing helped keep his lower than mine but Maximum still high. 149 seems to be the maximum it can show so we were both up higher than that at times. Pre-slingshot probably.
High Cadence is my Achilles heel. More rides like this will help though. When I start struggling, top gear, stand up, and grind it out.

I bought a very cheap rear wheel and put a continental sport 23 for on the bkool. And outside I switch to a gatorskin hard shell 28. I would say they are Brill but I haven't googled it yet and don't know if it means it is better than great. Never a flat.

The brill, Scophthalmus rhombus, is a species of flatfish in the turbot family (Scophthalmidae) of the order Pleuronectiformes. Brill can be found in the North Atlantic, Baltic Sea, and Mediterranean, primarily in deeper offshore waters

So Brill means flat sish so probably not a good tyre recommendation.

However it is also short for 'brilliant'.

Brilliant:
adjective
1. shining brightly; sparkling; glittering; lustrous:
the brilliant lights of the city.
2. distinguished; illustrious:
a brilliant performance by a young pianist.
3. having or showing great intelligence, talent, quality, etc.:
a brilliant technician.
4. strong and clear in tone; vivid; bright:
brilliant blues and greens; the brilliant sound of the trumpets.
5. splendid or magnificent:
a brilliant social event.
noun
6. Jewelry. a gem, especially a diamond, having any of several varieties of the brilliant cut.
7. Printing. a size of type about 3½-point.

No mention of tyres there Bob

The odd thing is when comparing speed reading on bsim/classic and a garmin speed sensor on a garmin head unit they are almost identical no matter what tyre size I use . It is just the power that changes .

To my knowledge BKool trainers don't need to know your rolling wheel diameter which, seeing as we all use 700c wheels is down to your tyre size.
Your tyre simply rotates the roller and the circumference of the roller is 'the road'.
The quicker the road is moving the more power BSim indicates (relative to incline and weight etc = conditions).
It therefore baffles me that a tyre can change the power displayed for a given speed, person and conditions.
Not saying it doesn't, it just mystifies me a bit mathematically but I agree with Bill, if a certain tyre gives you more speed (forget power) then use it for leagues and shine brightly (be brill).
But as you say it does not affect speed then that is pointless other than giving better stat's but baffles me even more because BSim uses your speed and the conditions to calculate power and hence same speed and conditions should equal the same power.

Well I didn't know what Randy was talking about with his gators, hard shell turtles and flatfish so thanks for clarifying it in a way I can understand.

I can't say I blame him.
The poor chap killed himself for almost an hour then you've made him go over and over again in his head analysing each part of his ride wondering where he could have gone 4 seconds faster. If you had done that to me after that ride I think I'd have tried to numb the pain with alcohol.

Who needs pain!
