Belting ride tonight AAAC,DP. Far too strong for me to even attempt to stay with. Any chance I had was knocked on the head with the sudden stop after 15 secs . I thought Bill would fly by but the same dead stop happened to him. The battle was now on! Once I could see my early advantage edge out, I gave it a dam good go. Knowing that LBH was with Bill, I thought you would draft together. Once I saw LBH lose Bill then I went for it. All to play for Bill on the final Leg?

Great ride Andy. I should have made a bigger effort to try and stay with you near the start but I think I underestimated your ability to get away from me and make it stick. I also think I overestimated my fitness tonight. I've not seen how much you beat me by yet but you must be at least a minute ahead of me in the league now. But there is still Saturday so its not over yet. You seemed very strong to me tonight and you were pulling away constantly and nothing I could do about it.

It was the fish and chips the wife brought home from town ^_^

I think I will do the winter leg 2 on Saturday. Add my ghost by all means. I did feel pretty strong tonight, and was bouyed up by edging away from you. My fish supper was starting to give me a stitch at the end.:hungry:

At least you didn't have to ride 16 miles to get it...

Sorry Bill, I was just looking to burn off the McD fuel the children persuaded me to have for dinner.
I did try to push hard on the climbs a few times and it felt like I was still having the Conti Ultra's on. Standing up pushing hard and getting 250-260 watt, while I was cruising easily at 350 watt on the flat parts.
I have a bad feeling about this course.

I think I'll refit my power pedals to get some reliable power data, but I'll need to get rid of the play/float.

I'm a Look Keo newbie. Is there a way to lock them?

Looks like fish and chips was the tea of choice tonight :hungry: After the goat, and a swift trip to Waitrose for the turkey and duck, I picked up a fish supper (no sniggering at the back  ) for tea. I got HID a little saveloy (I said, no sniggering at the back !!)

Thanks aaac, managed to hit the wall and recover a bit. Bloody ibs left me too dehydrated today and I really felt it. Good battle on those hills, I managed to stay close enough but knew the last one you would break away!
I take it there is no race next Thursday then?

Edit: I may have won gc but I ran a course again and saved time and I think you won all the cg events so the win is yours Sir.

That double back finish caught me out. I saw we were descending to the line and I eased off just to sail under the finish and be faced with another 100m. Probably lost one of my seconds there, that is unless you did the same.
Funny that I had a dead stop on the first 5℅ and you had one later. I was taking great care not to power into transitions too much after that.
Anyway bike is in the shed until one of the guests go and an upstairs room gets freed up.
No more BKooling till then plus I'm off to Harrogate on the 29th for a wedding which will wipe out another 3 days of my break.

Nothing to be sorry about Lars. I don't think I could have stayed with Andy tonight whether you'd been there or not. I thought maybe we could catch him with drafting but neither of us was up to it tonight.

Well done to all on tonight's CG ride.
It was a bit lonely out there for me -I had my own little battle to break the hour, which pushed my HR up to 15 above my normal peak for the last half mile.
I suppose that's why we partake in such madness - we enjoy the challenge.
Well done GW - it's hard being tail end charlie .... been there many a time so I feel for you. Only way to get through is set your own personal targets and keep that challenge in mind. I'll hopefully have a go on saturday, so may have to use your ghost so i'm less lonely :hugs:

Me too GW, I also tried the sub-hour but failed miserably..

I finished the run, got off and immediately started to check bike set-up.. I'm really struggling with my knees at the moment. Not actual knee joint pain, just very weak quads directly over the knees.

I'll go again tomorrow until I find the right set-up..

Great run GW.
