Zwift Alpe time, 1hr 3mins, Real Alp DHuez, 1hr30 (38deg C) so a little time to come off in easier conditions. I've done the Bkool Alpe on the Kickr, from memory that was around 1hr10.

Its a strong light rider who can dip under the hour on the real Alpe

There's your target Tommy for September ^_^

My targets are normally a bit more simple. Like just know I’ve tried my hardest at the end sort of thing. The times take care of themselves.

Getting to listen to one of Bob’s ever more elaborate excuses is also something to look forward to, but not essential

You could use Bob's chatting as a guide, if you cant hear him you going quite well

It's down from 20.8 to 19.8, that's almost a 5% difference. ^_^ Not the same as going from 20.8 to 15.8, which would be nice. I'm pretty sure I should/could loose 2-3 kg fat on the belly. Going to Mallorca tomorrow with all-inclusive, so should be back on 20.8% in a week.

On the Bkool Pro I normally do the AdH in around 54-58 minutes, except that one time I did it twice in a row, where the second run was 1h02m. These days it would probably be closer to the latter.

Happy holidays.. :sun::becool:

It sounds like you finally got over your cold or whatever it was.

Yes, the bronchitis is 99% gone. Think the doctor threatening me with sending me to a specialist, did the trick. ^_^

Now I only need to get fitter instead of fatter again... Done a couple of Zwift races/rides these last 2 weeks to slowly recover, and my performance in those races is still around 25% worse than back in March, when I last raced on Zwift.

am I hearing boo's n jeers from my virtual spectators? are my numbers being questioned? can I not have a good day?

Maybe all the real world riding is paying off... or.. my bkool pro is having a laugh? certainly no magic dust going up the Alpe yesterday..

either way, don't question it too much.. allow me to enjoy the warm glow of success.... if only for a moment... please? Tomorrow I may climb off and head home before doping control twig on...

Interesting chat with Brad Wiggins during the stage today. Very measured and some interesting insights into TUEs and their uses (must say, I agree with what he says, but I would do as an asthma sufferer and drug taker)

I can’t help thinking though , at that elite level it should just simply be no drugs at all allowed , meaning if you have a headache you don’t take anadin , if you need inhalers then you can’t race - it’s obvious that it enhances performance because if you don’t have it you die ! A simple no drugs policy
At their fitness levels it must make such a difference

I heard the interview too. What Wiggins never seems to address, and Matt smith gave him a free pass quite honestly. Is that most people think he gamed the system by claiming the TUE. He took the exemption before his biggest wins at a time of year he’s said previously he didn’t generally get asthma issues to pre emit an attack? He never addresses this. But he’s very happy to play the it’s all a conspiracy / I’m the victim card. I just think I’d respect him more if he held his hands up, like Sutton has, and said;”yep I gamed the system, but it’s all in the rules so...”. Rather than trying to justify it. He just sounds weak. At the end of the day they all looking for any edge they can find.

I kinda agree with that but not completely..

If I had to take a form of medication to enable me to attend to/and/or perform my job properly, I would take that aspirin and/or use my ‘puffer’ so I could breath a little easier. It would remove the headache or help me breath normally.

On the other hand, perhaps there should be two TDF? One for able bodied cyclists and one for disabled cyclists. Disabled if you suffer from asthma or migraine?

Yeah I think they just need to re draw the lines. Sport enduced asthma is a real thing of course. You don’t need a TUE to use an inhaler like Froome does. When you’re arguing you need steroids I think that’s too much.
