Chaingang Race tonight 7pm

Course: Salford CC Lymm Ride
http://www.bkool.com/classification/showIndividualStageClassification/4874

32km - bit uphill at the start then drops to the flats for the remainder - any riders close together when coming to the flats should aim to work together if possible!

Warm-up begins at 7pm for 10 minutes - look for it under the 'Live' tab between 7 and 7:10pm - if you cant see it use the advanced search at the bottom of the screen and search for 'Rickb'. Do not start a session from the League tab - you must join it from the Live tab if you want to race against each other. Remember to stop pedaling well before the end of the warm up.

See you on the start line! :pump:

I don't have anything else to compare with though, it does appear to have lasted well, it seems to shed less bits of rubber than the turbo tyre I tried.
Just fitted a replacement tyre to mine - its a Michelin Pro3 race - last one I had was great - quite sticky but nice and thin - New one is different in look but hopefully they havent messed with the compound! See how it goes tonight breaking it in. :bicycle:

On a separate note, nutrition. Does anyone use gels while riding on the turbo. I ask as I've just had a sort out and thrown away the ones that had a best before end in 2014 and 2015, now left with some that expire this month. I rearly use gels (5 last year), and was thinking about using them for chain gang rides rather than throwing away.

No, never use anything. Even my 2+ hr rides it's water only ... but then I've never used clip in cycle shoes and only just found padded shorts so I'm maybe not a good person to judge by

well serves me right for saying I liked my tyre, with 12km to go it started losing pressure, making squeaky noises all the way the line, just checked it, down to 80psi from 130psi, made for a tough finish but many thanks to Runar for keeping me honest all the way, I thought you might get me.

Well done Jabob, AAAC and everyone else. That was a tough one. Poor Bob, I think you used all your effort to catch us after we'd been drafting for about 10 miles. Strong ride Rick. I thought you'd be with us right to the end.
Kipster. Something's changed. Do tell;) I'm thinking new bike and good tyre:smile:

What a great race. Thanks for the big fight AAAC. You kept me going all the way. Was afraid that you would come back. I was riding on my limit and wouldnt be able to strike back if you came.
One of my best livesession performances ever :-)
Glad you enjoyed it Jacob. You and AAAC were flying (as always!)

Great race everyone and fantastic to see such a good turn out. Was struggling once I lost Lars and Bill's tail - then Bob comes flying past me - back and forth with him for a few hundred metres then he disappeared into the distance never to be seen again. Was worrying then that Jonbon would catch me but managed to keep it together to the line.

Apologies that most rides have to be approved (again) as I entered the heart rate wrongly so if you arent wearing a HR monitor it flags up the ride.

Just couldnt keep it up Bill. You pair are still far too strong for me - though my watts were pretty good overall those slight uphills just sap me.

Spot on Bill, I kept looking top left of the screen and there were 0 seconds between you guys so I knew it would be a tough ask to get near you all. Once I did I just couldn't hold it and watched as you drifted away.Took a while to recover! Still a great race, just managed to overhaul Rick but feared he would come back. Jon riding strongly too. And as for you guys up front, great speed and power. Well done everyone.

Thought I could latch onto Bob but he kept upping the pace and I couldn't match it.
Kept plugging away in no mans land until a few miles to go when I saw Rick was less than a minute in front, but I had nothing in reserve and I was dreading that last climb!

And note to self....Don't go for the early dinner option before a League ride!! xx(

Great race all . I think we were 4 guys at one point, working together in a group after the powerhouses up front, and actually managing to stay about 1:50 behind for a longer period.
Bill, we had a good fight to the finish line :boxing:, but I just couldn't maintain my sprint all the way and had to stop 50 -100 m before the line :B).

Thanks for the big fight AAAC. You kept me going all the way. Was afraid that you would come back.

Jacob, I'm glad you felt I pushed you but beleive me the only thing that kept me going today was pride.
I knew I would have to beat you to the one and only real descent to stand a chance as you would naturally go down hill quicker than me but I eased off the first time I caught you when I should have kept going.
However by half way I was strugling and spent a good deal of the second half stairing at my cross bar telling myself to concentrate on pedling circles in order to keep the power and speed on so there was no chance of me coming back but just a hope of you dropping off more than I was, but you didn't so well done Sir.
Again like last Thursday I just could not get the watts down on the flat so I will have to have another go at your time on Saturday.

PS: Why don't you join in the Goats League so I can get my own back!
