I went to cool down in a Goats session, and ended up doing it!! And thankyou Soarer for making me laugh at the start. I was kind of hoping you would look back in and give me a boost later on too!
Went in thinking "i'll send him some supportive messages" then thought "nah I'll go for abusive" then settled on "try to make him laugh slogging up a sodding great hill, that always makes it much easier".

The only way I could respond was by putting in some big pushes, which I tried to do, just to acknowledge my appreciation. I was smiling, but didn't have the energy to laugh. Thought the pothole was funny!
Like I say, I was hoping you were going to pop in towards the end with either abuse or encouragement, they both have the same effect.
You could always have joined me?

Yeah get a blender, blend healthy stuff drink it get healthy. That seemed like a good idea until the damn thing turned up and due to dropping a hundred quid on it I felt obliged to make something. Tastes about like it looks, even the dog looks worried and he will happily eat his own poo.

I think sticks would only have improved it, I cannot promise that a passing frog may not have fallen in.

The flavour can only be described as "green".

Do I quietly put it into a cupboard and face the gently mocking face of Mrs Soarerv8 or do I man up and go all Bear Grylls on it?
I think you need to invest in some green food colouring, and learn some slight of hand moves. Surely there's nothing to stop you putting cake in there?

In reality, you need to man up....knock it back mate. Wash it down with a lager.

I don't think he was!.

I took my HRM band off whilst we were sat at the start line as I had to go to the boys room and I had put it on over my bibs but left it in the bathroom.
I was absolutely b*llocksed at the end from chasing you guys so its a shame I took it off otherwise you would have seen that in my stats.

I had some tele assistance from BKool and my null setting was the equivalent of 0.7mm out which does not sound a lot but as the magnets are circular then the area presented to the breaking disc increases relative to the magnet diameter squared particularly whilst the first half of the magnet is being presented.
As a result I have been slowed down a bit.

The other bad news is they tell me I have an early BKool Pro that cannot be upgraded to FE-C without being reworked. They are hopefuly going to give me a price but to be honest thats why I bought the Pro bits in the first place so I am double P'd off now

I also started the session of a bit nonchalantly as I wasn't origninaly in a really competative mood so I wound it up a bit more slowly today.
But then seeing folk 'up the road' stirred up my competitiveness and I gave chase.
However no matter how hard I tried anything I gained on the flat and climbs I lost on the descents, now kicking myself for not picking up my 52T Chainring from Argos Click and Collect today.
Looking at the stats it was at about 9.1km that I was almost on your tails going into a climb and I relaxed a bit and missed the slingshot inot the climb and you all shot off up the hill and my deficit went from a few seconds to 30.
I think I got very close a couple of times before that and then lost ground again on the next descent.
Please tell me guys wer gaining and advantage from drafting because you were certainly knocking the wind out of me!

Did anyone record that?

I think only Geoff has the wherewithal to record such races, so probably not.
Yes I'm pretty sure that slingshot which you seemed to miss was the only thing that kept us ahead. The question is though, would you have joined in the drafting or would you have just passed us? I think if you'd joined us you'd have the best chance because of course at the end it's always every man for himself. I'd be interested to know if we could have re-passed you again if you'd got ahead. Maybe next time...
I used to always want a bigger front ring but not really available for compacts, but will it make any difference if it's actually just the software that decides how fast you'll get to go on the downhills?

Speaking of on/offing, it seems that good drafting can be just as lethal but much tougher to do. My on/off test on Monday gave a very similar result against your ghost on last weeks chaingang ride. I think we're stuck with drafting though, as it's definitely harder to do in bkool than in real life.

You mean piss in it to improve the flavour?!?:stop:^_^
Couldn't make it worse. However when I surge past you all powered by my performance enhancing "green" you will all be amazed and impressed.

Biggest speed I can make a difference to by pedalling as fast as I can downhill is 35mph after that it just goes blue and being a biffer helps me catch people.

Still not convinced drafting makes any difference other than making me pedal harder to try to keep up (so probably good in its own right)

I would have latched on the back to get my legs and lungs back!
It was predominantly downhill from there so there wasn't anywhere left to make a jump because all the climbs were too sort, and I would have not been able to make any grounnd going down the way on my own.
So tacticaly I screwed that up at the begining by letting you guys go!

xx( Are you sure you're supposed to drink it? I'm sure I recall Lord Percy (in Blackadder) wore it as garnish :giggle: .
