It all looks great fun with some suffering involved, I can't wait to join in. Frustratingly I will have to wait, the injury has not changed so I have to wait till the MRI and what the consultant has to say.

Neil, I have had 2 prolapsed discs over the years, at one time having to take several months off work. Following an MRI they were going to operate. And here I am chasing all the goats week in week out when I could be lying on the sofa. Everyone who has had sciatica will have a different story just don't loose heart. I think most who have and who also cycle would agree with me that a more stretched out riding position helps. Makes sense because you are stretching the lower spine out rather than an upright stance which puts pressure right where you don't want it.Mine was tweaked following a bike fitting and I know I am much more likely to get a bit of sciatica/back pain if I don't ride. Good luck with the MRI!

I've just been "tinkering with my profile settings on the Bkool site after having set it up in a bit of a rush when it arrived a couple of days ago. When I put my details in I just guessed at my weight at what I remembered it to be last time I weighed myself (ages ago!), but when I weighed myself today I relaised I was a kilo lighter than I thought, so I changed it. I then read something saying you can't amend your weight whilst within a league - which does make sense now I think about it! I have changed it back as I don't want to be accused of cheating! And I'm sure a kilo won't make any major difference anyway, and I can change it some time later when the current league finishes.

I am still waiting for my ride of the first chain gang league session which I did last night to appear in the league so thought I ought to mention this in case it causes any problems for the admin accepting the ride...

Thanks Bob I've had my fare share of injuries over the years s I won't lose heart, but I am very frustrated, I have never done sitting around and like to be active, that's the hardest thing with me. I can't wait to find out what I'm dealing with so I can start putting things right. Possibly my biggest error was riding through it in the beginning, it didn't seem that bad till my last road ride I did 39 miles but when I got home I could barley get of the bike and haven't ridden for a month since then.
Onwards and upwards!

Dont worry about it Bridgy. There's a few people who have to get rides validated due to weight so feel free to change it to the lighter weight. I accepted some rides last night so your's should show up shortly - it can take a while sometimes for them to appear!

probably shouldn't have done a goat ride before the chaingang, the chain off didn't help matters half way up the climb
Hate it when that happens - mines throws off the big chainring occasionally.

That course was tough - definitely suited the goats today -

Next week will be interesting too - 25km with two short climbs in the middle totaling 5km of climbing and the rest pretty flat. Average gradient 4%

well done everyone, great effort by Bridgy on his first ride - another one for you guys up the front to battle with. I did push hard tonight but legs were still really heavy from Tuesday's Alpe d'heuz. If i'm about on Saturday I'm up for another go
