I was, I knew I had to keep you within 5 minutes, I had given up hope when I was six minutes behind but got a second wind for the big descent and didn't look at the screen until I'd finished, 4m59s behind your ghost. However I concede the position due to the on/off advantage I gained in stage 3. :okay:

Great motivation though, not sure I'd have been much quicker without my current cold.

Oh no :stop:, the place is yours - all's fair in bkool racing! I was struggling with cramp for the last quarter of the ride so not surprised you were catching me - the result of spending so much time in the company of Rick and Bill!

I have just jumped onto a live session in warmup. I left my avatar on the start line for 17 minutes elapsed time before I moved the pedels by hand to start riding. It was a downhill start so almost no resistance and the coast down lasted a while. When it stopped it and asked to finish the session. I said yes and my result was 18 minutes to do 0.1 miles.

I once joined a live ride part-way through and at the end it said it took me 5 hours or something! (it didn't!). But after saving it, it was my actual moving time that was recorded on the bkool site

Are you doing any real life time trials?
I have no intention to get back into 'real' riding.
Perhaps when I retire in 4 to 10 years time I will start going out on the road as a means to pass time with a reasonably low outlay.
For now the virtual gaming is sweet for me and requires very little outlay once you have the basics.
Just buying the odd tyre and chain etc. every now and then hits the sweet spot as may car is my real hobby and a bit of a money pit at that.

Fair play to Geoff for taking the time to set up this Thursday's handicap chain gang ride, gutted now that I've returned my trainer but I will make sure I'll be watching that's for sure...

Back to basics for me today, used my rollers and power tap... A bit rusty got interesting a few times, lol

I just tried updating the KICKR firmware to the FE-C beta (using the secret swipe!) and it made no difference at all. Still crawls down -10% declines at a few miles per hour.

Well, sorry to hear that. It was worth the try though.

@Bkool emailed me to say they had tried it on their KICKR and it did give blue speed figures, so not sure why the live version doesn't work for my KICKR or Baldo and Monte's Tacx. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it soon.

Hopefully. But don't hold my breath.

I've looked back at my times for the various chaingang sessions and I think my stg 1 this time round is an outlier. I was getting over my man flu xx(:surrender:and was still a bit down.

My Sitka stg 3 time should be at least 7 minutes quicker due to visitors and other issues

I think, at best, I should go with GW @ 2.5 . Or at worst possibly @5 minutes between bert and paul :headshake:

I'm happy to change you to 2.5 or 4.5, or how about bang in the middle at 3.5?

Cheers,

Geoff

I have to ask about the car! Are we talking retro vintage or current classic?

Well don't be coming up with a vast improvement before Thursday please, you and I are off at the same time, and I was hoping to draft you for the majority of the way.

Had a go at the final chaingang ride again and got 100m further than yesterday and then crash!!!!

I didn't realy have the legs today and I was way down on yesterdays time but not too far from Jacobs (perhaps a matter of seconds).
Today was a real slog and I didn't have the umph to do much more than just dig in.
Beacuse of this I was not powering on in descents and into climbs and the result was a much more realistic ride.
The powering into and out of climbs appears to create unreal inertia so I had no problems averaging a speed over 50kph/30mph which to me is unrealistic.
Below are some screen shots from today.
I am awhole 7 minutes behind my schedule from yesterday, which if the rides were 'equal', is a really bad day but is more likely to do with the advantage I gained from power spiking yesterday.
Looks like I am going to have to make do with tenth place which will be 11th if boblinski gets to ride his missing stage.

I have sent a copy of some of the log files from my Device Manager System Logs in the hope that they can tell me what caused the crash.
I have attached a copy of the logs as well just in case there are any software 'spurts' reading this

Noting that exotic, just a mordern day Mini Cooper R56 S as seen on the left.
I am forever modifying it for no better reason that it is there. I don't even do track days to justify some of the mods. I just love doing it as my day job was once hands on and now I am in a office so I miss the grease and spanners.
