OK, I've created a separate thread for the handicap races and started it with a post on how to join the rides

Chain Gang Handicap Race

Not sure it needs a sticky, as it should come back up to the top when a ride is imminent, and then drift down the order when no ride is planned.

I've added a second post with the current start times for the current race. Before each race I'll edit this, so it is the official place for the times to be posted.

Cheers,

Geoff
:notworthy: Geoff you have more patience than I :okay:

Well its Sunday 31st January and the Mountain Goat League 4 should have closed now. It hasn't though but I'm going to announce the winning 3 of two groups (Yes I decided that's how to do it).
Further down the order there are those who could jump ahead if they were to do the ride they are missing. Because so many have avoided col de Madeleine , that means that if your bkool arch rival has you beat by 4 or 5 mins right now, if you were to complete the ride then they would get your time plus 5%. You could be really sneaky and take 5 hours to do the stage to ensure that you gained 15 mins . I think back in the day when myself and Adam were out to get each other any which way, one of us would have definitely done it. I'd have been out with my calculator to make sure it hit home as painfully as possible ( ie 1 second) :tongue:.
Anyway I digress...
The Top 3 results of the latest goat league are as follows:

Bkool:
1/AAAC
2/ Alan C
3/ Ryan

Tacx Vortex/Other:
1/ Rob H
2/ Baldo Mero
3/ Monte

Well done guys. The usual suspects leading the bkool results so no surprises there. Not so many in the tacx/other group but in the overall results they were well up there. Hopefully bkool gets the differences fixed soon so the groups can be as one.

New Mountain Goat league coming soon :cycle:

I have no intention to get back into 'real' riding.
Sorry, don't mean to be intrusive, but I'm just fascinated by the race against the clock and all the details surrounding aerodynamics. Just recently took the final and most economical irresponsible step and got myself a rear disc wheel (still clincher though). Can't wait to get out on the roads and do some testing :bicycle:.
Just buying the odd tyre and chain etc. every now and then hits the sweet spot as may car is my real hobby and a bit of a money pit at that.
A good thing you don't live here where we have to pay for three cars to get one ^_^.

I just love doing it as my day job was once hands on and now I am in a office so I miss the grease and spanners.
I had enough of that when I as an young student had to repair my Citroen Visa myself. When I was done I had a bag of nuts and bolts leftovers:scratch:, but who's counting . I got it running again, but the damn thing broke down on me not too long after...never figured out why:whistle:.

Looks like I am going to have to make do with tenth place which will be 11th if boblinski gets to ride his missing stage.
That doesn't seem fair. Surely the admins could approve a dummy ride and adjust the time. The only question is: Should you have the league win, a shared league win with Jacob or second place?

Just for clarification - I've only used a Tacx Neo for one ride, I borrowed the trainer from a friend to try out.

I'm trying to borrow a wahoo from a friend to try out

You can borrow mine in you don't mind the trips to Taunton to pick it up and drop it off!

Geoff

Or just do the ride here!

I remember those days fondly Bill. I still smile at the memory of doing that bloody awful ride twice in one evening, after getting my BKool poke about having been challenged and beaten by you, by 1 bloody second. I just couldn't let it go... Fortunately for both of us you are far enough ahead of me that that sort of nonsense will no longer be an issue. I think my new arch rival could be Berty.

Pleased to say I have the Bkool bug again though, but I am taking a more measured and sensible approach this time round. I might even give the next Goats League a tickle too, now that I have stopped wheezing like a chain smoking pensioner when I step off the bike.
