Can you please add the 'C' to 'AAA' please.

I am still in the AA but I left AAA some years ago.
But then again it was long after I left the AAAC.
However my time at the AAAC did in part lead to me joining AAA.
But neither had any influence in me joining the AA all be it had I not joined the AAA I may have had no need for the AA.

BTW CXRAndy it was a typo on my part, I meant to say 6th mile! Could you see me after then?

Great race, when I could see you I couldn't really catch you always one step beyond...

AAAC got to within 3 seconds of us at one point but I thing the drafting on the flat and downhill just gave us too much of an advantage. Bob thanks for your "He's coming!" when he was exactly 3 seconds behind us. You know how to get me relaxed:eek:.
Yes great teamwork:hugs:. Hope you don't feel picked on AAAC, but I can't see us pulling this one off again anytime soon.

Geoff would've been proud of us
I think AAAC was just toying with us.....

Wasn't quick enough at the start to join in all that drafting fun

Great race again though ^_^ - thanks for a good battle there @Roleur1 - you were just too strong for me at the end, I gave it all I had!

My pleasure Bridgy. ...drafting deffo works. I was hoping you were going to bridge those couple of seconds so I could use you...oops ...share the work with you to keep our deficit down. I was behind AAAC for a bit after the start but his summarily left me for dead....

Bridgy we need to get our own TTT going next time. :training:

Looking at the starting speeds. I was not pedaling when the clock counted to zero and my starting speed was about 11 mph. The front runners had speed between 24 and 40 mph. Are you guys spinning up as the clock hits zero?

Great race guys. Hadn't even seen the posts about drafting before the race but was glad of the company/assistance. Worked great!!:hugs: Was very nearly not having a go as I stupidly went for a 6 mile run when I got home from work but had enough in me to hang in for a while. You're right Bill about that small hill. Anything like that and I just drift off the back!!!:surrender: Pleased with my position all things considered.

One more thing. Had a large kebab and chip at 5:30. I used to get an allergic reaction where my skin just comes out in a rash and is crazy itchy. It gets triggered by eating rich foods and then exercising heavy. Guess whats happened this evening for the first time in about 15 years.

Nope.^_^ If you're pedalling when the clock hits zero it'll just tell you to stop pedalling! We all just hit it as soon as the timers gone.:bicycle::bicycle:

I couldn't see you after I passed you the second time, I thought you had dropped back a little

Some tips:

1. Irrespective of the starting gradient get yourself in top gear at the start and pedal like crazy as soon as it starts - you' ll get a big initial speed and power boost until everything settles down

2. Like me, you'll still probably get dropped by the really fast guys as they can hold this power for that bit longer, but at least you'll be in as good a position as possible compared to riders who are a similar pace to you

3. Don't start pedalling too soon whatever you do as it's very frustrating being stuck on the line as everyone else disappears up the road, waiting for the flywheel on your turbo to stop! (I speak from experience on this one!)
