Too much Shiraz last night.
Near killed myself for just a 7 second improvement.
I was going to stay with you Bill but Bob was looking dangerous for the stage best time so I went after him.
I assume you blew a bit on that lump Bob?
I'm trying to think at what stage I didn't feel knackered and the only time I remember being so was on the start line.
Thanks for coming back for me AAAC. I wasn't quite up to the pace today it seems, probably put in too much effort yesterday. I'm glad you let me go finally because I needed to slow down at that point. Bob I thought we'd probably too and fro all the way to the end to keep ourselves amused but it seems your connection had other plans:sad:

I am hoping to fit it in. I have a dinner date at 6.30pm. It all depends whether wife comes in and stops session, apologies up front if I disappear part way through! + the edge in me has been dented from this mornings sprint-excuses

Re B'day, cheers
Had a family cycle around Rutland water- we all made it followed by pub lunch:hungry:
Ooh a local!

Sitting here in, post session, pain. I have looked at why it hurt so much. Low cadence. When I can turn over 80 and above I can put out some power way above what I normally do on hill.. With low cadence it just hurts. Over 230 @70 cadence just rips my legs to shreds. 280 @85 seems like 200 @60. If that makes sense.

Although the numbers are lower on the vectors (about 20-30 watts) they do follow bsim. The problem I have is that the lowest gears are not low enough for me to spin and maintain the spin. I just need to find a way that I can spin the lowest gears in quite high gradients. Without killing myself or getting this http://www.goatbikes.com/section811575.html

i just got freight trained by Stu  thought i was safe on the last hill - how wrong was i !!well done ! hope your sick !! ;)
Thanks Berty had a total Bkool nightmare, subscription ran out just before the start had a mad rush to sort it. Thought it was all done only to find out the payment hadn't gone through. Got sorted on the second attempt only to find out password wouldn't let me log in to sim. Had to log back into website sort password, input password to sim, find race start 4 minutes late peddle like a mad man got within about 40 second of you and lost server connection, server reconnected only to find I'm on my own, not much fun racing yourself DAM YOU BKOOL !

Do you have a compact chainset boxers? If not, maybe an option? I have a 'semi compact' on one of my bikes and it makes a noticeable difference to me.

The bike I'm using has a semi compact 52/36 with a 32 on the back. I have an alternate with a 50/34 and a 32 on the back but it is not as comfortable. I may swap the crank or just the rings once I work out the difference between the 2.

I think my d'Huez time with a compact and not gaming the system would probably be about 1h15-20. As I can maintain a 6-7mph speed at 80 on it up the hills. But I may not want to do the full length session again. xx( :surrender:

I know the feeling well.

It's the curse of being self employed isn't it. Getting the balance right is often out of your hands...

Still, the turbo will always be there once you've ticked everything else off the list mate. I'd offer to wear a bright yellow outfit in your honour for today's ride but I don't think I can pull off the flying canary look. Not at the speed I go at...
And I'm not even self employed!! I work full time for a construction company, but then do my own work on top.

But I have so much on now, I'm going to go self employed. Evenings and weekends are for turbo training, not working!

Sorry @BILL S completely missed the fact there was a rerun today. Have been pretty wiped out the past few days and haven't been thinking too straight. On the mend now though but won't be around on Thursday or saturday this week either I'm afraid.

I'm clearly no expert but I think I'd try the compact if I was you bud.

I have fitted an 11-40 xtr Cass to my bike for the likes of alp d'huez and ventoux. Those type of hills are so sapping for us big fellas. I need to keep my cadence at least 70rpm or my knees start to complain. I can't do long periods standing due to a knackered foot.

Just looked at my only attempt at the alp which included riding back down aswell. My climbing cadence was 85rpm on the xtr cassette

No worries at all Rick. We ran it as usual, and I'm always ready to kick it off if you're not around for whatever reason. Today I just gave it 5 min and started the session. I'll start the next two if I don't hear otherwise from you. Likewise I'm sure there are others who would jump in and start the session if I'm not available.
Get plenty rest if you can and don't worry about the bkooling. You did the main thing which was setting up a cracking league and it's more or less self running now.

I thought we were being pretty quiet. I have just read back through and realised AAAC stayed back with Bill and still bested his previous time by 18 seconds:notworthy: . How do we catch up?
It's getting close to that time when I should take the best bike off the turbo. My sl pro will go back on though with a change of tyre to cont.i The old sram gtoupset needs replacing and so will look at a mid compact or even a 53/39 up front. I need to be able to turn a higher gear on the flats and descents rather than spin out. My lungs cannot keep up. May go new tiagra or second hand 105. Problem is I have 10'speed only rs 24's so 11 speed isn't possible. Or (shudders) I could sell the Bkool and use the money saved not replacing group set to get a wahoo kickr or tacx neo on ifc. Yes, I am bored, lying here, stomach gurgling and churning . Seems my little puke may have been a taster. Well I did catch much of it in my mouthxx( And on that unsavoury note I bid you all goodnight;)
