The real steep climbs tend to show higher power figures, partly because some people find it easier to produce power against a steep resistance, and probably partly because of inaccuracies in the power estimation algorithm.
That's why, to keep a level playing field, I'd like people to give me a power figure from a stage like that, or preferably a recent climb up the Merry Harriers or perhaps Alpe d'Huez, so I can compare with the FTP value.
Geoff, here's the power and w/kg of everyone who recently did the Merry Harriers stage in the Chaingang Spring Sessions League. I don't know if you have access to that league data so I've posted it below if that helps you work out weights for the handicap. Surprisingly the figures are lower than the much longer stage 5.
