The real steep climbs tend to show higher power figures, partly because some people find it easier to produce power against a steep resistance, and probably partly because of inaccuracies in the power estimation algorithm.

That's why, to keep a level playing field, I'd like people to give me a power figure from a stage like that, or preferably a recent climb up the Merry Harriers or perhaps Alpe d'Huez, so I can compare with the FTP value.

Geoff, here's the power and w/kg of everyone who recently did the Merry Harriers stage in the Chaingang Spring Sessions League. I don't know if you have access to that league data so I've posted it below if that helps you work out weights for the handicap. Surprisingly the figures are lower than the much longer stage 5.

Thanks Bill, but that was one of the first things I checked out!

Got power figures for most of the regulars now, thanks.

Obvious missing contenders at the moment are @Gaileb, @bert1971, @Randyberlin, @Add, @RickB and @LBHIFI

I do have some power figures for some from Bonus Stage 2 and Stage 5, but it would be good to get your FTP power values, if you think you'd like a go at the Handicap.

Or anyone else who fancies joining in...

Since everyone will be lighter, and some considerably so, resistance should be reduced and the sessions are deliberately designed to be short, so as not to go over 30 minutes. They can be done at any time during the week, if you can't make the Tuesday 8pm club run! :highfive:

I'm not going to make it. I really like the idea and hope to participate in the future.

347 Watts at 79kg was my last FTP, up Huez. I would say this is about on the money for me now.

Well done @AAAC 76C on winning the Spring Sessions League - this looks like the final results, although looks like stage 6 is still open for the time being if anyone (@LBHIFI ?) wants to have a last minute shot at setting a time if they missed it before! :bravo:
