so, this velodrome lark...do we go off like the clappers from the start or slowly build to threshold and hold on for dear life? seems a bit risky not getting behind and able to draft the fast starters, Bill, bridgy and Lb

How will we know what velodrome ride to look for in the Live tab @BILL S? As it's not actually in the league are you still able to give it a special name?

I'm not able to give it a special name Paul. The best way to ensure finding it may be to search for my name using the filters, or just look for a velodrome session with a padlock on it and if it started at 7pm then its likely to be the right one.

That's just what I've been wondering. I'll not be wanting to be left behind at the start as it'll be hard to catch up if the front guys are drafting each other.

I know that the power to speed thing is a little different in the drome. But 28mph/45kmh is beyond my capabilities to hold for more than a few laps, even with drafting :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:.

I'll be aiming for about 23mph/37kmh and a finish time of sub 50 minutes  .
I do a 60 lap ride and I average 38.1 kph, so I think over 60 laps I'll be happy with an average of 33kph (assuming no drafting). If I can draft then might be a smidge faster but maybe then only 34 kph

Blooming hell. I am still trying to catch my breath minutes after finishing...
respect to the 4 of you, LB in particular for keeping up that pace. you were so far ahead of me all i could do was try and keep rick down to no more than 30sec ahead and see if i could bridge to him near the end. Every time one of you guys went to lap me again i tried to stay with you to aid me in my pursuit of Rick but i just didn't have the puff to turn the pedals fast enough.I think i might get some cheap tri bars for the next velodrome ride.
well done all!
