Thanks, the way I felt at the start I'm lucky to get that time. I did put in a bit more effort than Bonette although the suffering was probably equal. Good luck in beating my time ;). It may be just a little tougher than last time. I hope.

I have seen your previous times for the bonnet I know I got off lightly.

Wow @LBHIFI , your attempt to even things up in the league in the last stage was pretty amazingly accurate - after 4 stages, there's now just 0.6 seconds between us, with Bill just 7 seconds back! I don't know if it's fair on you that we're now that close but if your plan was to get back to about the same times that's an amazing effort!

Bob, you'd be a lot closer too, if it wasn't for the time you lost in the velodrome I think...

Really? will have a look and perhaps do a re run instead of the handicap tonight.

Don't miss the first time handicap race in ages! There's plenty of time to have another crack at the velodrome.....

P.S. of course, all this talk of the placings at the top of the league don't take into account that AAAC's planning to catch up on the stages when he's back :surrender:

OK, my initial calculation of Handicaps (and therefore Start Time in elapsed minutes and seconds) is as follows. This takes no account of any fitness changes since the last Handicap Chases, so may well result in some gaps at the finish, but should serve well to make things interesting and get us some more up to date times.

Anyone new who is not on the list, I suggest you start at the same elapsed time as some one you would expect to be close to you in performance, let us know here and see how it goes. For anyone unfamiliar with the procedures, please take a look at this link Chain Gang Handicap Race

Where's that "don't like" button? My weight is up and my fitness down. And I did the goat ride yesterday. Not to worry, my time will get me a better handicap next time.

There's a lot of downhill on this course Bill so you never know, the weight might actually help you!

The clever tactics would indeed be not to overdo it initially and play it cool until the handicaps are settled - hopefully in your favour - and then really boot it in a later race! There's no way I'd be capable of doing that though - once the race starts, I won't be able to stop myself going for it! And then I'll look at the new handicaps from Geoff and....

Bill, you will be fine and when you catch me i am going to be mean and draft you all the way:okay: though if we have the legs we can try and catch bridgy who will have already passed me and then it should get really interesting.

Since these rides are to finalize the Teams for the Team Time Trials (once the numbers allow for at least 4 teams of 4 regular riders) too much sand bagging will possibly put you in the wrong team. I'll be checking the effort percentages and may have to indulge in a bit of naming and shaming...

In reality, the competitiveness of you lot means you'll likely all go for it flat out... :sweat:xx(:heat:
