Widdersbel I think
Yep, it was widdersbel but I've just changed it to match my forum name to avoid confusion.
Widdersbel I think
Watching you battling it out tonight was something to behold. Just shows what cycling can doAt 56 rushing towards 57 and someone who has heart disease I'm just happy to have a heart rate.
Edit: Beat me to it Bazzer
Having heart stents fitted and taking up indoor cycling has re-invented my life.
I spent too many years after my first angina attack (as I subsequently found out that's what it was) just being careful not to overdo anything.
At the time we had a drug dealer living behind us who we often had verbal battles with.
I lived in constant fear of what might happen if it developed into something more physical.
Shame he was moved on before I got my heart fit again!
Smutchin. What ride did you do ? For others to see your rides you need to allow others view in privacy settings in the bkool website.
Well if your performances are to go by you are a real advert for cycling considering what you've gone through and how fit you must be. I can only dream of climbing at your speed but maybe one day. It's a good reason to keep losing weight and get fit and keep excercise a part of my life... chapeau! At 56 rushing towards 57 and someone who has heart disease I'm just happy to have a heart rate.

Widdersbel, when I joined Bkool, I pottered around for a few months thinking I was okay. I then joined cyclechat leagues. One phrase, ‘dumb founded‘. I couldn't believe the pace and speed the others had over me. I wasn't able to start as fast, I would get destroyed on anything but downhills. Keep at it, and you will be surprised how quickly you become stronger and faster.
47 and regularly hit 180 ish, when I'm really trying I can get it to 190
I've been fitting a kitchen this week. The crazy fool got a 'bespoke' solid pine one made up. What a rip off!! 7 units, no appliances, £4K. And they are rubbish! It's not even solid, it's that cheap laminated softwood stuff. All screwed together, and the end panelling is just matchboarding, not even secret nailed.i was having a lay down after getting a price for my kitchen units - nearly 6ktheres only 8 units cooker n sink !!
sorry ive got to have another lay down![]()
A friend of mine was putting a kitchen on my Howdens account, and Howdens rang up to check this was ok, then asked if I wanted them to add £300 to the price of the kitchen, and give me the cash!! I said no I didn't, and have closed my account.Just saw this - 2 for Howdens![]()
Don't suppose you've got a contact number for him? Does he deliver? At 56 rushing towards 57 and someone who has heart disease I'm just happy to have a heart rate.

Edit: But life is a lot better now he has gone.
What tire do you use?I know I'm out of shape and I expected to be towards the back of the field, but I'm surprised at just how far off the pace I was today. And I shouldn't have been quite so close to throwing up at the end of it either. Something ain't right. I mean, I know I'm capable of more than 1.4w/kg...

I'll try to keep it up though and hopefully I will improve. Despite my poor performance, it was fun.
Tbh, perhaps the problem is that I'm not doing much other riding at the moment. I go out with the club most Sundays but usually with the old duffers who make me look good, so perhaps I need to join the fast group to push myself a bit harder. Apart from that, I do parkrun on Saturdays, but I'm hardly doing anything else during the week, which is why I want to try to get into the habit of using the trainer over winter.
Yeah, well done AndyWell done Andy. Is that your first stage win? I think we have another one in this league which has a lot of downhill too. Could this be your chance to take the title?![]()

In the last November Chain Gang stage I think I did one of the most clear demonstrations of how important the choice of tire is.
I did the stage 2 times averaging the same power (I have a power meter), one with 25mm Conti Ultra Sport, another with a hard pumped 23mm Conti GP4000 S. I averaged 269 Bkool watts in the first ride and 338 Bkool watts in the second attempt.
So that's roughly 70 watts more just by changing tire.
