My first "proper" bike was a Falcon Black Diamond for my birthday in January 197*. The next weekend I rode from Ulverston to Keswick and back (about 80 miles total). Dad told Fred Whitton (he worked with him in the shipyard) who told Ernie Clements (Fred had been a Falcon rider) Ernie sent me a better saddle than the b* awful thing the bike came with.

May 1970 i was 6 and i was at the Rainbow Theatre London. My mums brother was babysitting me and in his superb wisdom he and his mates decided to take me to see Steely Dan. That was the last time they played in the UK until i turned 32 and they came back.

They are still my favourite band to this day and thanks to my Uncle i have a very eclectic music taste and a consuming love of reading.
There was a ladybird plague in the long hot summer of 76. The little buggers got everywhere and they could bite as well.
Yeah our family holiday was in the New Forest and I remember walking out along Hythe pier and it being a sea of crunchy red underfoot, you couldn't avoid standing on them. It sticks out as it was one of the few days me and my sunlight worsened eczema went out for all day.

In the mid 70s I got my first 'proper' bike - a racer with drop handlebars: a Raleigh Olympus.

Couldn't find a picture of it, but it was predominantly green & white and had five gears.

My brother had the Olympus, I had the Raleigh Arena (upgrade from the Black Hawk), with saddlebag, lights and reflective flag - I went everywhere on it

Bell bottomed jeans, plenty of naturally curly hair about a foot long, beard. Gad, I wish I had some pictures of myself at University. Would probably scare most sensible people right off the forum, though. Now balding, no beard, no jeans, no longer at University. Still likely to scare most sensible people right off this forum.
