i think a wet ride is almost a given really. been raining heavy here in hull all day, and is forecast same-ish all weekend. the track will (as solty says) be muddy in places but that just adds to the fun. think of it as an adventure ;-)

Breaking News: Met Office issue severe weather warning

THE Met Office has issued a severe weather warning this afternoon for East Yorkshire as a band of heavy rain pushes northwards.
Up to 15mm of rain could fall within a three-hour period today with 50mm possible on high ground.
According to the Met Office, some areas of the country could see a total daily rainfall of 50mm - half the average for the whole of September.
The weather warning - issued at 2.05pm - will be updated at 9am on Saturday.
Sarah Holland, spokeswoman for the Met Office, said: "We have weather warnings in place from the south west of England to the north of Scotland. It is widespread.
"Heavy rain will continue to push northwards through the remainder of today and overnight."
The Environment Agency, which is responsible for waterways, has not issued any flood warnings in East Yorkshire.
Conditions are expected to improve slightly over the weekend, although rain showers are expected. The maximum temperature will be 17C (62F).

Good news, I've just got home & it's stopped raining 
but dont know if it will last 
The track WILL be muddy in places, so overshoes are recommended, unless you have wipe clean shoes
I'll probably be there a bit early, i'll be wearing some tatty old overshoes, & a blue Briko top, possibly hidden under a yellow jacket if it's cold & wet
& i'll have a muddy looking Spesh Globe, it's clean at the mo, but by the time i've cycled to Hull it will proabbaly be blathered

Yes it is one I know well, actually quite scenic, some nice single track road in places, bit of national byway, passes Burton Constable hall (and tree lined section for the blazing sun), and drops nicely into Hornsea with good views of the mere...
Thought it would be different view to the main roads, part of a 19 mile loop I do.
Must not turn left too early when we come off the main road, did it once when exploring the route, felt a bit like the film deliverance!
I guess I'll be doing the road route then

Bit late checking in as I've just got back from Oxford. I'm hoping to still come tomorrow but seem to be coming down with a sore throat 
. Hopefully I'll sleep it off. I'm planning to get the train into Hull and should be there just before 11.00. Look for the silver Giant hybrid.
