Well - things are going a bit crazy

I have been trying to find somewhere useful to volunteer for ages
got a thing in a local library once a week for several months and only 3 people turned up the whole time

Age Concern were keen but I basically first contacted them in January and I have only just got everything sorted

and this week I had a "client" (which sounds wrong - but like something Dave and Drago would come up with) for an hour

then today I have 2 more

plus the Food Bank have got back in touch after many months asking if I can still help
so I have to go and see them on Thursday

so naff all interest for over a year

then this week it is suddenly busy

life is weird

Regarding porridge, I go to Mallorca 3-4 a year cycling and most hotel buffets serve it although consistency varies a lot. Usually find I'm one of only a few who seem to select it and get some quizzical looks from other guests. All the vast array of goodies and I'm eating porridge.

I have it most mornings - normally with some fruit

even the grand kids often have it when the are here for breakfast

unless they want "toast in the shape of a ......"

Good morning all. A heavy sleep though broken 3 times by nurses wanting to give me meds or check heart rate etc.
Should be going home this morning, we shall see.

Good luck getting out Dave.

I am out for another 2 weeks before chemo round 2, when I go back in for a month, and it is positively lovely after 7 weeks inside.

Very emotional returning home, too.

Strange thing - by the end of my stay in hospital I was hating it there (although the ward, nurses etc were fabulous) I had simply had enough. It felt bleak & 'unfriendly". Well, yesterday I went back for a day of blood screening and bone marrow biopsy (effing painful thing, excuse language) and it felt warm, friendly and inviting to be there. How odd!

Anyway, Dave, hope your results are okay, too. It's horrible waiting for them although they tend to be much quicker in a hospital setting.

Good luck.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Mr WD saw the Kingfisher again today. Apparently they like sheltered bodies of water and that's exactly what our pond is like. There are plenty of stickleback and other fry for it to eat. I looks like it may have set up shop there. I'm happy about that.
