I decided on a change of plan as I was tired so I've had 90 minutes back in bed.
Just been out to the car, it's a hard frost/ice covering it. My Aldi dash can wait till things warm up.
I am doggy sitting as most of the family are away. They are only small dogs so my instructions are........
08.00....let them out for 15 minutes.
Attract them back in by shaking a bag of doggy treats then give them 1 treat each.
And that's it. The grandson has fed and watered them.
What could possibly go wrong, unless my name is @PaulSB in which case I could lose one of them

Weather Update:
In Liverpool, the John Lennon airport is closed due to adverse weather conditions.

Imagine all the people!

I saw it was closed yesterday but assumed it would reopen today. A real shame for those people.
Daughter and SiL left here at 04.30 for thier holybobs but are flying from Manchester which, strangely is open...... I wonder why 1 can be OK but not the other as Liverpool is near the Mersey whereas Manchester it towards the Penines(ish).

Morning folks :okay: not too bad out there this morning but will still be doing some snow clearing :okay:
Good morning from a chilly Dorset, -3 overnight according to the Met Office and -5 according to the weather sensor on the house. All this talk of " Wirral vs The Wirral " brought to mind Lilliput. It's a really nice area of Poole and I've always thought it would be great to have it as a postal address. 😁
The worse postal address ive had is 'The Piggery' Timberscombe near Minehead I had a cottage which years ago was actually a piggery and had been converted. It was a very nice cottage but really didnt like receiving mail with 'The Piggery' written as the address. So thought i would change the name...and came up with this.....'The Jiggery Poke' its a play on words! ^_^

Off helping someone with something computery this morning

Just been looking at the local paper and a few local groups on web thingies

funny how loads of people are saying
"I remember when I were a lad/lass and we had to walk to school every day all winter no matter how much snow we had"
and others are saying
"Just had some snow - just shows how this climate change is rubbish"

same was happening in the summer with the long how weather

the web can be quite funny if you look at what everyone is saying

This is why I don’t risk ice any more. Fortunately for those of us who are retired, there is no real need to chance it.

Just been reading in the Independent how motorists can be fined up to £1000 for de-icing they car wrongly!!!

Wow - glad I read that!!

Ok - when you read the actual words then it turns out that the £1000 was for "repeat offenders"
and the "offence" is leaving your car running while not in it on a public road

I bet our Drago was overrun with arresting people for that one EVERY winter!!!

The papers to seem to scramble around looking for any old snow story as soon at the thermometers drop below freezing

but I expect better from that paper
more like the sort of carp you get from the Echo!
