The world would have to be in a very bad place if they needed folk your age to be conscripted.🤣🤣

Im still fit enough, so could volunteer and with my previous service would likely be an NCO shouting at the conscripts in training rather than in a combat unit. A mate of mine a year older than me was a major in the army reserve and theyve just kicked him out due to age. The Royal Marine Reserves were only too happy to take him at 58 (hes an artic and mountain warfare trainer) so he's now a major for them.

Or I possibly could volunteer to go back into the dibble to free up a youngster to join the military. You'd like to think that in the event of war they'd forget about policing hurty words on Twatter and stick to banging villains heads together, which is my speciality.

There has been some talk of a reconstituted estates defence force, independent of the Army and Reserve, to protect critical infrastructure. I could volunteer for the that.

If things got hot enough for conscription id do something useful. Just knowing im on the job will be enough to make that Brad Puking bloke think again.

We missed the war.
We HAD good NHS.
We had full employment.
