I don’t normally watch prison stuff but ended up watching a programme about Barlinnie just now. Couple of my ex colleagues must have moved there and were on it.

Good morning. 'Tis grey, dull and still. I'd hoped for better but on Monday we were offered 70% rain so I'll take this. 20% rain and a gentle 9mph wind from the northwest. After a tricky time yesterday with the grandchildren I badly need today. The oldest is finding it very hard when she feels her granddad is giving her sister too much attention. He isn't, just doing his best but I se and understand her feelings. It's hard to watch.

So, today's big adventure. The Silverdale Ride. One of the highlights of our cycling year. Getting everyone together on a day with a decent forecast when all of us can be home late is hard work. This is a 114 miler to Silverdale, a beautiful little village hidden away in north Lancashire. We have a fabulous, mainly flat (less than 5000 feet) route, to take us there. First stop will be the cafe at 62 miles. I'm on two breakfasts today, two hours apart and have packed adequate supplies. It's gonna be a good day. Only downside is one guy is going to struggle. We know this, he shouldn't be on the ride but doesn't seem to understand it will be very tough for him - we've seen it before. I've reached an age when this makes me very grumpy. I've never joined a ride I couldn't complete or keep the pace. I think it wrong to do so. Next time this happens I may have to say something, but I won't today. The forecast wind should blow us gently home.

Good day all.
Another good sleep has been enjoyed.
My weather app shows rain from 10.
2 appointments today. 1st one is a haircut at 10.30.
Next I have to go into town. Not been there for many months and I have no idea about blue badge parking. It's a 'must go' visit and will make Paul's 112 miler seem trivial  ....I will bore you with details if it all works out OK.
See you all later.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
A cloudy start to the day here.
The big decision today is to go and get a haircut. The thatch is looking a bit unkempt.
I'll get a bike ride in, nothing like @PaulSB though. :bicycle:
The grass needs cutting also, the lawn, or what's left of it needs it.
My 'phone is also telling me yet another software update is needed, and when should I schedule it.
Enjoy your day everyone ☕️

Good luck with whatever that is, Dave. Blue badge is pretty easy and there's usually plenty of good signage. I don't know the rules these days but in years gone by one could park on a single or double in most, but not, all places.
