All jobs (nearly) done. Dark wash is drying so will need folding/hanging/stuffing in drawers.
Lunch, I think, will be curry (from a can), rice and chips.
Just enjoying a cordial drink while watching women's golf.

Just started watching a TV series " Stick " about an ex pro golfer mentoring a youngster. Reminded me a bit of the Ted Lasso setup, but golf instead of football.

Interesting name, I wonder what the history of it is/was?
Locally we have Ralph's Wife's Lane.

Ralph was either a fisherman or smuggler who vanished at sea. His wife's ghost still walks the lane swinging a lamp to guide him home.

I knew you was a badn, I just knew it.

I always pretend to be upset that they didnt think I was under 18.

LAst time I needed it wasa at the Scan as you Shop in Tesco
the woman who came over to do it used to be a Teaching Assistant at the school where I was a teacher (she gets more working at Tesco!!!)

she came over and said hello and "well I know YOU are over 18!!" as she sorted the screen out!!

I did always get on well with her

Just got back from a ride

23 miles - so a bit longer than usual

apparently I also completed a challenge and I am eligible for a 15% discount from Huewei (not sure of the spelling and can't be bothered checking)

so - 15% discount on something that I never wanted anyway and which cost several hundreds of pound

Nah

On Strava? I sometimes do the challenges but I think the only time I bothered with the reward was using a Le Col discount once to get some bib tights.

My Garmin watch updated recently. Yesterday afternoon I was zonked out on the sofa when it buzzed and displayed " are you sleeping ? " or something along those lines. There was also some guff about the importance of sleep

Well that was a damn sight more difficult than it needed to be!!

just been cleaning the drain and U-bend for the downstair loo wash basin
did the upstairs one yesterday and they were nearly totally gunged up with gooey gunk

so though I had better do this one

well - what a faff

seems like whoever put the u-bend in and cupboard together had a selection of bits of plastic pipe bits left over and just used them
rather than using bits of the right length

and put the shelf in - then put the u-bend in

as a result the shelf was 1 mm above the shelf
hence the u-bend would not come out at all without removing the shelf
which was put in with screwed on tiny brackets that could have gone at any height

as a result the whole thing had to be dismantled
and the pipes were just about able to be pushed into place - when making them the right length would have been easier
the down pipe from the sink was right down into the bottom of the u-bend when it is the same as the upstairs ones and they are all clearly designed to just go into the top

Ok OK OK - I could have shortened them
but that would have involved going out to the shed and getting the saw and workbench out and set up
although by the end I was wishing I had done that

and it was such a fiddle getting all the pipes in teh right place and in the right position

clealy put in by someone who knew they would never need to clean it!!!
