Just got a message from Santander

they have - for my convenience - switched me to an account with no "rewards"

which I knew about
what I didn;t know if that this will require a new card and PIN
but it is OK because they are sending it to me - if I have not already got it, which I haven't

problem is that I will be abroad for over a week

so I went onto their website and found the "Chat" option (which annoys me - it isn;t a chat - it is me asking a question and hopefully them giving an answer!)

anyway - I typed in my question
and it worked out that I am asking about switching my account
I'm not - they have done it
so give me 5-6 options for questions about how to do it
and no "none of the above option"

so I got fed up quite quickly and just copied my original question and pasted it in every time they asked for a response
eventually it gave up and said it was "passing my query onto a colleague"

who will reply some time later

so the chat is not even a chat - it is a computer system trying to get away wil delivered stock answers to simple question
and then a too small group of humans that can type in answers if you persist
at some point in the future

I presume it is using AI - and the I bit of that needs some work!!
I do that on most sites where they state it's AI to start with.

YEA GODS!!

I just accidentally got onto a part of Reddit that has "Uncensored news"

well - uncensored is right
News is pushing it abit

nevew seen just a list of unsourced rage and clikc bait in my life

I had a Ford… and then it was gone…

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Yes - that is my main worry

maybe Fujitsu would put in a bid??

but the main think people seem to be saying online is how terrible it is that the government wnt to be able to track you!!!!

It is clearly just fine for a private company like Vodaphone and BT and all those to do it and for you to pay them to do so (mobile phones on case you hadn;t guessed)

They are also saying they will go to a Nokia xxxxx to stop it all
which is weird - and no-one has said anything about you HAVING to install the digital ID thing
in fact they have been going to every length possible to say it will NOT be compulsory

so you can stay on your iPhoney or Samsung and not have it
but the phone company and many other people can still see where you are if they want - which apparently doesn;t matter

If you believe the Liebour party when they say it won't be compulsory you need to have your head examined. I wouldn't believe a word they say. Watch this space, before long they will do a U turn.

I have expert training in mobile phone geolocation, both as a high tec crime investigator and SAR team manager, and it's very easy to go dark...if people can be bothered. Its not a fait accompli.

In any case, its not compulsory to sign up with a mobile phone company so its the consumers choice to have them process your data. There is no compulsion to do so.

The good news is is ain't going to happen, not least of which is due to the very people introducing it being biblically incompetent.

Then when it doesn't we can get back to the serious talk of Y fronts, bloomers, and how many fit young hitchhikers Pete x-X-x (AKA Xander Cage) has picked up this week.
