MrsP has just bought a VW Polo R line, 1 year old, 2600 miles only. £10,000 less than the forecourt price of a brand new one. She seems happy with it after the test drive. They seem to have a good reputation.

When possible I have tried to buy nearly new/ex demo cars. It was always drummed into me that if you buy new then you kiss goodbye to X% purchase tax the moment you drive out of the showroom.
When i worked for the national company (part of Shell) there were approx 20 reps and managers. We used a 'finder' company that would scour the country and source the appropriate nearly new vehicles. We never had problems with any vehicle.

I'm back from doing my 'bit' in the park. I was given a paint brush and set about painting the railings surrounding the kiddies playground. It was bloody hard work bend up n down for 2 hours.

Up later today and watched the second NFL live game on ch 5 with the morning coffee ,was a good one too Ravens beating the Cowboys literally in the last second.Had breakfast part way and a second coffee later.

Then out for shopping and thrifting, got some Spoke lounging trousers and the BH got a organic cotton t-shirt (French outdoor brand Picture) and a posh silk scarf.

Also got to fuss a cat.





Had some stickers and a mag delivered from a Canadian YouTube channel called Bike Breath.



Will get my Stayer OG and the Bh's Kona ready for a ride tomorrow.

The holiday now dribbles to it's end,a great finish though.Maria Alm a beautiful village,stop which included free cake and coffee,then back here for a boat trip on the lake,paid a bit extra and got up on the Sun deck,own table and chairs,so must better than steerage .So now one final evening meal and a brekkie then on to Munich Airport.Then back to the shite.

Lovely early 6½ mile walk from Lubenham to Foxton Locks this morning.
A bit nippy & foggy but at least I was the only person there 😎
During the day & weekends gets particularly busy!

Back home by 10, quick shower & hop on the bus into town to sell an old phone cluttering up a drawer for £45, attempt to sort a bank out (unsuccessfully) & a visit to the Council offices to check progress on an application for summat (successfully)

Someone sent me a load of photos showing what was accomplished by our painting attempt earlier.
The bench is obvious and the bridge goes from the path over to to older kids swings.

Morning, just recived my blood test results.....I'm still anemic, no wonder I'm tired all the time
and I've been on iron tablets too, there must be something wrong with me

Have you been offered a bone marrow biopsy?!

My dad had problems like this. Had a few colonoscopies to see if there was bleeding but nothing obvious. He ended up needing both blood transfusions and iron infusions just to keep him going. They never seemed to get to the bottom of it before he died.

My father in law is having similar symptoms at the moment and had to have a blood transfusion and iron infusions. He is off to have that fun packed procedure that is a colonoscopy lol. They are looking for a bleed made worse because he is on blood thinners because of his heart condition. Fingers crossed they find something next week.

I have read about that work - it is interesting to read about it as I ride over it quite a few times every summer
As it says there is no towpath in the tunnel but the old road used by the horses still exists
Basically the towpath goes into a track past some nice looking houses
then across a main road and down the other side - again past some nice looking houses
and then joins the Trent and Mersey canal on the other side

just after that is the "stop lock" which links the Trent and Mersey canal to the Bridgewater canals
they are weird locks that only raise or lower the boats by a foot or less
but they protect the water "belonging" to the canal company that owns it and stop it leaking into the other one if one of them "leaks"

Quite interesting - if you like that sort of thing

If anyone is interested there are a lot of "interesting" videos about the repairs to the canals around Whitchurch after that massive breach a while ago
It is interesting seeing what they have needed to do and how they are fixing it

Busy little day, a bit of work this morning, chimney swept, out for practice for my advanced motorcycle test and then sorted out a split cushion inside one of our sofa cushions, the living room looked like a poultry slaughter house, but the tear has now been sewn up and everything back where it should be. Now collapsed with a beer!
