The original enthralled my generation, the BBC repeat of the 90's enthralled another (to date, the DIY Tracy Island remains Blue Peters most requested fact sheet). So obviously, there's something about the original that still has appeal to different generations. The Simpsons is successful because it is written for adults and children at both levels, so can't see why this version shouldn't appeal to older fans as well as a new generation.
