I think the thread has run its course, it's been proven beyond doubt that touchscreen are a huge distraction & should not be fitted to cars, just because they can. Also that button/lever/stalk/switch controls for wiper, indicators, high/low beam & heater controls are much suitable than menu driven touchscreen. Maybe one day in the future, however at this point in time they are bad & should be banned.
Interesting interpretation.

Really I thought the main conclusion was the XC90 is the SAFEST car ever made with no death reported whilst driving, and as I've shown you the XC90 interior layout might as well be a clone of Tesla with a big touchscreen.

So by default if you want a safe car buy a SUV with a touchscreen .

I want one of these as my next car. It will totally destroy peasants in their pathetic little Fords and the emissions are terrible, it has a few blind spots, it's got lots of things to play with and it's too big for the supermarket car park but it will keep me safe if I crash and that's all that matters to me.

So you don't think a XC90 is the safest car ever made?? What car is safer??

Sadly not too expensive, Samsung S9 user. I do have a MacBook Pro from 2013 which I still use for iMovie/Photoshop work .

I have no idea, have you asked Google? But I suppose 'safer' has many different variants, safer for who (or should that be whom) under what circumstances, an F1 car must be one of the safest for the driver, but am I allowed to choose that as it's not really a road car, however the front spoiler wouldn't be very safe for pedestrians I wouldn't have thought.

Interesting, for such a supposedly safe car...

and...

...and Tesla's crash twice as often as regular cars (this may test your language skills)

...and, oh look, more likely to crash and more costly when they do...

And Tesla fire deaths four times the rate of other cars...

But you still agree the XC90, a SUV with the almost the same touch screen interface is the safest car ever made with no death.

So the point of the whole thread would suggest SUVs with touchscreens are the safest option, do you not agree?

Safeties combination you can have, and if its got a Volvo badge you are pretty much immortal.

I think that is the conclusion of this thread .
You think so?

My take is that all touchscreens should be levered out and thrown on to a bonfire, but then how would you know if your heated seats are 35 degrees or 36, if your headlights will stay on for 20 seconds or 22 seconds after you leave the vehicle or if Debra from your over 50's dating website has tried to call...

Sympathy all around there...

But than how would the worlds safety car where no one has ever died, the XC90 function without its touch screen??

Oh think of all the extra death on the roads if XC90 drivers had to drive other cars!!
