Mike Woods from the IPT retirement home to full retirement at the end of the year

It would have been interesting to see what he achieved had he come to cycling much earlier.

Gee has a contract with Israel until '28. Ineos must see something special in him to buy him out of that.
Good rider and a nice guy: with him and Kevin V they've got the beginnings of a decent mountain train, but who for?

I heard some guy (think it was Jake Birdsong) express his relief at no longer riding with the word Israel on his back. Is this becoming an issue?

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Derek Gee to Ineos apparently.

Looks like Israel Premier Tech don't agree ...

Easy to have morals when you've left....

He was happy to take their wage cheque until then though 🙄

Seems to me that he chose to take their wage - if we accept what he says, he wasn't 100% happy about it.
100% easy to say when you've gone.
In his defence though, he'd probably have been gagged whilst he was there and 12 months ago things over in that part of the world were more 'debatable' than they are now.

Probably best to leave it there without heading into news current affairs and politics territory.

I think it's awful how badly reliant on petrochemical companies, despotic and/or genocidal states, and gambling companies the pro peloton is, and if I were a rider looking for a team I'd be in despair at what I might be asked to advertise. That said, I'd never have been able to ride for IPT before the current genocide.

I'll not go further into politics now - I can understand how difficult it must be for riders with so limited options in front of them - but like judgements about doping pre/post Festina in '98, I think there's a pre and post Oct 7th 2023 line where I have no sympathy for anyone joining IPT now.
