All true. Think he will forever be a "what could have been" rider. He doesn't seem to have the absolute work ethic or dedication of someone like a Seixas. Has weight issues and injury or sickness issues. Doesn't enjoy a too structured environment, but rather needs his freedom on home roads (or home-ish roads), doesn't want to go to altitude etc. What do we think of De Lie? 24 years old and already has 35 pro wins, though precious few at the very top end (GP Quebec, Bretagne Classic and Renewi GC his biggest - and only WT wins). Was sent out to farm UCI points in SSR's (see Cav for the acronym...) but couldn't keep Lotto WT in '22, succeeded in getting promotion '25.... Has had some complicated media attention and weird stuff going on with Lotto. Earmarked for greatness early on but.... a bit overhyped really? Somehow more Arno the Kid than Arnaud the Wünderkind?
Arnaud De Lie . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Arno Van Imp (Arno the Kid)

He has incredible potential, but I don't think he will ever put the pieces together to win for extended periods. However, his potential is great enough, that he could get a Paris -Roubaix win if everything goes his way. I wouldn't hold my breath though. Personally, I would not sign him or Roglic at this stage of his career.
He would be tailor made for QS if Lefevere were still there. 😉
