I think this is what is going on...

The image is resized so the height fits the avatar square and is then clipped horizontally to fit. CycleChat lops off the righthand side; the other forum lops off an equal amount from both sides.

I don't think I have ever seen it increase if you buy two.

But it isn't uncommon to have a selection of items in the "any two for £5" type offer, where most are more than £2.50, but some are exactly £2.50.

The feeder tube in bottles of anti-bac' and other such sprays always seems to end in the back part of the bottle, instead of the front. This means that when the bottle is nearly empty, making you tip it forward attempting to spray the last few contents, the feeder tube can't reach the last bit of liquid at the front of the bottle.
