Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

Not quite trivial. Had a new Finance system in work. Paid a fortune for it, installed by one of the 'big five'. Big worldwide system. It's crap, doesn't do what we need it to do, analysing anything is impossible, coding is all over the shop and I can't actually do my job because of it. Managers publicly saying it's a success - it's not, it's a disaster (for those of us who use it). Let's say it's bad enough to consider leaving after 18 years in the job.

Currently going through a new finance system installation now, proper stressful.

Can we expand this to capital punishment for anyone who has "designed a form" and made it impossible to actually fill in - usually by using repeating "...."?

I’ve spent a lot of time reformatting forms before I actually fill them in. It’s one thing I don’t miss about working with IT illiterates.

Maybe she's mastered time travel and so on.

A new variation has been added.
Just inside our front door there is a 'coat cupboard".
She has learned that it is possible to leave that door open.
In the right position it blocks the front door about 1/3rd of its opening.
That point where it has most momentum and you are moving forward at speed to enter.
The result is that the door stops opening, you, with speed on, come to juddering halt.

I used to work in a ver ytechy part of the IT department of a large company

our boss was one of the most technically able people I have ever met

but he used to type on memos and letters in Excel

for "reasons"

eventually he did change and use Word - but never admitted it - although when we discovered it he dod come in for some "comments"

had a "project" to replace the photocopiers at a school once and got a loads of quotes

The Head asked me about the quotes so far - I commented something like "my opinion of the quality of some the quotes cannot be said out loud when the kids are still in the school"

the company that was alreayd suppling the copiers was the worst - after a while I noticed that the sales-person changed after I sent the quotes back a few times saying I refused to look atthem until they made sense!


FFS!!
