Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

I don't mind Excel. I do however have a problem with people who confidently assert that they are really good with excel and then don't appear to be able to write a formula or use a pivot table / data validations.

Ok - when did you last use a COUNTIF or VLOOKUP

When I was starting to train as a teacher - after working in IT for 20 years - we had to do a self assessment of our IT skills

The admin went through the forms and discovered that it said that the IT teachers in training had self assessed themselves the LOWEST of all the teacher groups

Our tutor asked us why

we came to the conclusion that we knew what excel and the like could do and we knew that we could only do half of it

the PE and Art teacher probably thought they were doing well to add up a column of numbers
and had no idea there was more to it
so they assessed themselves as being good at it
but we said he only knew half of it - because we knew more of it

Then there was Foxbase, that was cruelly good.

Not only do I remember (and loved) Harvard Graphics, I also remember SuperCalc and 20/20, two more early PC (and pre-PC) spreadsheets that didn't last long..
