Worcestershire Parkway station: what a design disaster!

I dread changing trains there when the weather next gets properly cold*. It's designed to be cold and drafty, and the platforms all have no roof.
I can understand the cost/carbon saved by having no heating, but surely an enclosed waiting room wouldn't be expensive?!?

Oh, and no Wi-Fi (so you can't track the trains without standing by an open door where you can see the screens).

*If I do get cold, I'll hunker down in the Baby Changing room ♨️

More fun and games with Technology...

Colleague sent a link for a Powerpoint Presentation so I can work on it.

I can't access the presentation without a Microsoft account linked to my phone. Grr. Download app for Phone.

Enter Email.

"This Email is not associated with a Microsoft account. Please make a new account"

Click on "make new account"

"Please enter Email address"

Enter the same email address.

"An error has occurred: This address is already associated with an account".

Make the presentation on Open office instead.

And people ask why I don't trust technology.

Yup
Until recently I always used Open Office if I could - it also can open PowerPoint files
which I assume you know

I also only do things like that on a proper computer

well - not a proper computer - one running Windows - proper ones run VMS or GCOS6 MOD400 but I may be biased there

anyway - anyone trying to make a presentation without a proper mouse and keyboard is a masochist!

Indeed. I suspect opening something I made on OpenOffice using Windows won't be as easy.

My replacement Win11 ready work Laptop should come in a week; This will be set up with a new email address for work, so hopefully I can get everything to work on that Independently of this one.

It occurred to me that this is a little Ironic, as the presentation is about communication...

After I retired I stopped using Microshaft Orifice and just used Open Office

There were a few that I still need to move between different system but it all worked fine
You can save the Open Office things as a Microsoft file type

I would be wary of doing something flashy and moving it over without checking it before presenting it to "important people"
but when I have tried it it has worked fine

Yes! I've tried to make a Home Microsoft Account that is separate from my Work Microsoft Account. This was years ago and I only had my Work email account that I used for everything. Microsoft couldn't differentiate my two accounts and thus merged them into one, but also separately? It was a right mess. I left it be. Then a year or so later when I used a gmail account more I thought I'd try and separate the two MS accounts. Easy, you'd think, but NOOO! MS said I have the same name for both accounts so it must be one account! It seemed the only way I could have a home MS account was to change my name through Deed Poll. Not gonna do that for no one!!!

Things that make me annoyed - almost all Groups and the People in those Groups on FarceBook. They are so self opinionated. They are also in the majority, very, very, very stupid indeed!
I mean, c'mon, who uses the abbreviation ETA as anything other than Estimated Time of Arrival; or Electronic Travel Authorisation? Yes, the second one is pretty obscure, I'll admit.
It does NOT mean PS or Addendum! Why oh why have I seen it so many times at the bottom of a post where PS would be used normally? I can only think they mean "Extra Thing Added"? :banghead:

Yes - I have been fighting this sort of thing for decades

Whena computer decides that something is clearly the right thing to do

especially if Microsoft is involved

then it is normally a major problem

this has always been the case

AI doesn't seem to be any better at it than anything else
it just does it more and over a wider area

what could possibly go wrong
