I find my photos are visually enhanced with wind turbines in the backdrop.
They are quite majestic making it irritating that purposeful myth is used to ban them.

It isn't a myth though.

You may like them (and I often do too), but many people do dislike them. Many people like to see the natural landscape (even though little of it is truly "natural" in the UK).

I get the ruining the landscape viewpoint. But if we step back and ask "What's the biggest threat to our landscapes?" the main answer is continued growth of our carbon footprints.

Perhaps objections should only be considered from folks who have already minimised their carbon use?

Meanwhile, in That Escalated Quickly Corner:
Concerns were also raised about the impact on the Eskdalemuir Seismological Recording Station which plays a key part in a worldwide treaty to monitor nuclear arms testing.

Many is not a majority, though perception training certainly helps lead towards 'majority'.
In the north east a fair few villages are known for their 'farm stench'.
Visual off things are everywhere, from offroad vehicle use, to field animal overpopulation, to field solar overpopulation.
Roads are another 'blot on the landscape', though they get well accepted.

We keep all our flour in sealed containers.

Still had a bad infestation recently, the first in many years.

Okay, just had our worst infestation of all time. This time in french beans, that my wife dried back in autumn, then left in an open jam jar on a kitchen shelf.
When disturbed, they flew EVERYWHERE! Going to be squishing them all night!

Pea weevils? Vine weevils?
Gross, look at the holes they're escavating into the beans!

Recently completed a jigsaw. On holiday.

New one from a sealed pack. Piece missing. Searched the floor and furniture. Looked under the furniture, behind the radiator, you name it. Gave up. Emailed the company, who provide a “missing piece” service.

This morning, looked up from my kindle and, Lo!

This supports my theory of "mischievous imps" that live in a parallel dimension

They nip into our dimension from time to time and move something somewhere unexpected
or steal something - then return it a few days later to somewhere that you KNOW you looked several times

or sometimes a combination of the 2

This is a good explanation of many things that I have observed over many years!

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Can somebody please explain to me how this makes sense...?!

My new Android tablet has a fingerprint scanner on the power button. In landscape mode the button is on the top of the left-hand side of the tablet. At first, I was using the tablet in landscape mode so I trained the device with the index finger of my left hand. All good.

Now, however, I will mainly be using the tablet in portrait mode, held in my left hand. Like that, the power button is on the top of the tablet on the right-hand side. I now needed to train it with the index finger of my right hand.

I used my left index finger to power up the device and log in. I navigated to setup/fingerprints. It popped up a box...

"PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR PIN"

I shouldn't need to do that because I have already logged in!

If the device really needed me to log in again in case I had left the device lying around logged in and vulnerable to someone else setting up their fingerprint, I should be able to do it with the fingerprint that it already knows, right? WRONG!!!

The reason that I am 'annoyed beyond reason' is because I couldn't find my PIN in any of the places that I normally write down critical information like that. After 30 minutes of searching, I gave up and looked up what I was supposed to do next. I thought that there must be a way of forcing the device to let me log in again using the fingerprint that it already knows. Nope... Do a factory reset... WTF!!! :cursing:

PS What is even more annoying is that I finally remembered the rather obvious reason why I had not written the PIN down - I had used the same PIN that I use for my phone!! :banghead::laugh:
