I find my photos are visually enhanced with wind turbines in the backdrop.
They are quite majestic making it irritating that purposeful myth is used to ban them.

It isn't a myth though.

You may like them (and I often do too), but many people do dislike them. Many people like to see the natural landscape (even though little of it is truly "natural" in the UK).

I get the ruining the landscape viewpoint. But if we step back and ask "What's the biggest threat to our landscapes?" the main answer is continued growth of our carbon footprints.

Perhaps objections should only be considered from folks who have already minimised their carbon use?

Meanwhile, in That Escalated Quickly Corner:
Concerns were also raised about the impact on the Eskdalemuir Seismological Recording Station which plays a key part in a worldwide treaty to monitor nuclear arms testing.

Many is not a majority, though perception training certainly helps lead towards 'majority'.
In the north east a fair few villages are known for their 'farm stench'.
Visual off things are everywhere, from offroad vehicle use, to field animal overpopulation, to field solar overpopulation.
Roads are another 'blot on the landscape', though they get well accepted.
