People who "reach out to me"... usually from call centres, but millennial daughter has also started using the term.... arrggghh

That one annoys me too. It sounds like they're trying to make it sound like an act of heroism.

I’m currently in correspondence with an insurance company and they repeatedly address me as Mx Glasgowcyclist. I’ve told them to stop that and use my stated title of Mr. We’ll see if they comply.

My bought seven years ago in September 2019 phone is slowly dying.🙄 It's been acting oddly and annoyingly for a few weeks now. I only use it for watching you tube videos and dropping it down the toilet yesterday didn't help! Thankfully It wasn't this new(ish) phone I'm now posting on that dropped down 'the bog', otherwise I'd not be posting this message! That white clouding affect you can see around its screen has slowly developed since it took a dip!🧐

If it was bought seven years ago then it probably hasn't had any security patches for three or four years, so if there's a "Non-Trivial things that absolutely ruin your life" thread somewhere I fully expect to see "Someone hacked my account and now my life savings are gone" fairly soon ;-)

Its probably 4 or 5 years from new.
Its fine generally but it has developed a fault.
The phone doesn't ring.
It vibrates. Music plays. I can hear the sound on videos. Can hear callers and all other tones. But no ring tone.
I should get another phone but its quite nice not getting calls. I can always see who has rung so......

Its probably 4 or 5 years from new.
Its fine generally but it has developed a fault.
The phone doesn't ring.

I might go and buy a laptop tomorrow. I used the spare, now completely dead phone to watch videos on, listen to the radio and watch Match of the day, plus it had lots of photos on I didn't/couldn't transfer onto the replacement phone I got 17 months ago. I'm now having to post on CC, Facebook etc then swapping back to watch videos etc on this phone I'm using now. A slight inconvenience but nothing to get downbeat about.😉 If I do buy a laptop it'll seem quite a novelty to look at a large screen as I've used my two phones system now for around three years since my last laptop conked out.

A lot of phones have a separate volume control/mute for the ring tone. Check yours to see if you have accidentally changed the settings?

It's crazy! My old/reserve phone was 'dead' the other day, but on leaving it alone for a day or so I charged it up today, switched it on, faffed around with it a bit and low and behold it's come back to life! OK, the screen image is a bit dark and has a slight pink tint, but it's still kind of watchable!😉
