Tyres are shot but I can't afford new ones, is there anything I can do?

Do you want a loan for a month or 2?

Or should I say, I will get you some tyres then pay me back in the new year.

I use Bontragers all the time and that price I may buy some anyway. I doubt I will need them until the new year so you could buy me some back in a couple of months.

Glad to hear it Andrew, sounds like your on top of things but as your bike is essential for getting you to work I'd never describe it (nor mine as it does the same thing) as an indulgence! Maybe have a chat with wifey to see if she is putting something ahead of your tyres that could be jiggled around a bit.

I have 1 used continental gator skin (700 x 23) and 1 used marathon plus (700 x 25) that I was going to chuck which you are more than willing to have as freebies to keep you going. Still got a bit of life in them

I am completely overwhelmed by the generosity of you all! Wow! I don't want to give the impression that the wolves are at door, things are just very tight indeed, we're eating and clothing ourselves okay

But wow, seriously kind of all of you!

@4F seeing as I'm seeing you tonight I'd love to take up your kind offer, thank you very much.

As a matter of interest if you scour good old E bay you can find a pair for £12 - £13. Not the best quality maybe but they are new and will keep the tubes off the tarmac for a few months.

Those Bontragers look like a good deal when you've got the spondulicks to splash out on them?

If I didn't live about as far away from you as it is possible to live I would gladly drop you round a pair of hardly used B'Twin tyres to tide you over.

I've got a Part Worn Michelin Lithion 2 (23mm) if it's any use. Likely to have two more shortly as I'll be changing mine over at Xmas. PS they are red sidewalled.

I have 2 brand New Kenda (700x25) tyres that I took off my Fuji Track to put Blizzards on as I didn't want to trust a tyre without some P proofing.

For that reason alone you may not want them, but I'll happily post them if you'd like them.

I've got some duro fixie pops in brown you can have for the postage, folding bead and a puncture protection liner like a mini m+'s. almost brand new and pretty good.....a bit slippy on canal banks.

Edit: 24mm

I could have shod twenty bikes with the responses I've had to this thread. My god; it might just be because I've just got back from a CycleChat pub meet up but this is the best forum in the world ever!

I want a kebab!
It certainly is, a shame we are not coming over to ride earlier than Spring as I have approx [cough] 60 used tyres in the garage including loads of Bonti's, anyway I'll throw a few in the car when we come over. Dead unreliable them there Bonti Hardcase Race Lite, just had my 3rd puncture [to be fair in a very well worn front and it must have been something nasty cos I couldn't find it] in nearly 33,000 miles, need to keep an eye out for something a bit tougher.
BTW All Terrain isn't free postage unless you spend over £50, J E James is if you spend over £15 and the tyres are £13.99 each there [sorry 4F].
