Anyone played God of War? I keep seeing this ranked as one of the best PS4 games of all time, praised for its narrative driven story telling etc.

I tried it once before and just got really bored. Tried it again yesterday after a year or so away, and remembered why I found it boring. Just constant attacks by monsters and then a huge boss fight with a boss that doesn't really take any appreciable damage and who often gets back up with full strength three or four times.

Have I just not got far enough into the game? Parts of it I liked - the funeral pyre is very moving. It's the rest of it I'm struggling with.

Not one I've done I'm afraid, I have read the same though that it's a very good narrative game, apparently there is a film being done of it.

Stick it on Easy and slay, see how it goes?

Yup. You're a bit late to the party of you're starting with the PS4 one though, they started way back in PS2 dayes of yore...

The story is better than the game IMO. Like you I find it pretty tedious and repetitive: it's basically a fancier version of Golden Axe.

Never played it but I know the feeling. Three times I've tried to get into Witcher 3 now, and each time lasted a few hours and that was it. Really beautiful massive open world game with really good play mechanics and a good story. I never gave up in frustration I just drifted into playing something else. Always feel like I'm missing something, it has such an amazing rep and a Metacritic score of 92. I got a lot further in the last attempt sometime last year but really, it never quite grabbed me.

I really enjoyed Witcher 3. Thus far only God of War and F1 2019 have been game fails for me.

Even on easy the boss fights are tedious. I couldn't beat the stranger on normal mode - that's how high they have set the difficulty level (I'm not totally useless!)

Dragonage and dragonage origins I flip flopped up and down easy

As this seems to be the video game thread, I've just played a game where one of the enemy team was called "Dodgy-PE-Teacher":eek:

Video games is my vice, it's my way out and distraction from the world. Been gaming for as long as I can remember, from running Avra with a 14.4k dial up modems to Uni Halo LAN parties (ethernet cable hanging out of halls), and currently own 3 generations of Xboxes.

But last few years with family life and a heavy focus on career progression gaming has taken a small stepback. Haven't got time for hardware faffing these days, but Stadia gave me a taste of hardware free gaming, and now using GeForce Now with 50+ games in the library.

With the house now done, this holiday period I've been able to really get into some my favourite games like Forza, and the F1 series.

Hooked up to and 100inch projector, with graphics settings turned up to 'ultra' and 5.1 surround sound, gaming on Forza is taking things to the next level!!! The ingame graphcis are now better than pre-rendedered from even just a few years ago, and the game play it self is just fun. The immersion the current gen of games can give you is simply phenomenal, than there is the YouTube reviews of GT7 in VR..........

Anyone else here into gaming? With the way the tech is progressing I cannot wait to see how games will look at close in on 2030 .

In my opinion, https://gamblcritic.com/ is a decent starting point for online casino research. They claim to test platforms and focus on licensed sites, which helps avoid obvious scams. Still, like any review site, I’d double-check info elsewhere since bonuses and conditions change often and not all reviews are fully unbiased.

Video games are getting so close to photorealism that sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s rendered. Titles like Cyberpunk 2077 showcase neon-lit cities with lifelike reflections, while Red Dead Redemption 2 captures nature with stunning detail—from muddy boots to shifting sunlight. Even sports games like EA Sports FC replicate player movements almost perfectly. With technologies like ray tracing and advanced motion capture, characters now show subtle emotions and realistic physics. As graphics keep evolving, games are no longer just played—they’re experienced, blurring the line between cinema and interactive reality in ways we couldn’t imagine a decade ago.
