Anyone played God of War? I keep seeing this ranked as one of the best PS4 games of all time, praised for its narrative driven story telling etc.

I tried it once before and just got really bored. Tried it again yesterday after a year or so away, and remembered why I found it boring. Just constant attacks by monsters and then a huge boss fight with a boss that doesn't really take any appreciable damage and who often gets back up with full strength three or four times.

Have I just not got far enough into the game? Parts of it I liked - the funeral pyre is very moving. It's the rest of it I'm struggling with.

Not one I've done I'm afraid, I have read the same though that it's a very good narrative game, apparently there is a film being done of it.

Stick it on Easy and slay, see how it goes?

Yup. You're a bit late to the party of you're starting with the PS4 one though, they started way back in PS2 dayes of yore...

The story is better than the game IMO. Like you I find it pretty tedious and repetitive: it's basically a fancier version of Golden Axe.

Never played it but I know the feeling. Three times I've tried to get into Witcher 3 now, and each time lasted a few hours and that was it. Really beautiful massive open world game with really good play mechanics and a good story. I never gave up in frustration I just drifted into playing something else. Always feel like I'm missing something, it has such an amazing rep and a Metacritic score of 92. I got a lot further in the last attempt sometime last year but really, it never quite grabbed me.

I really enjoyed Witcher 3. Thus far only God of War and F1 2019 have been game fails for me.
