Warm hands/cold feet

Any particular suggestions as the why my hands would be roasty toasty whilst my feet are like blocks of ice,

I wear just an ordinary pair of gloves and that`s it. On my feet, I`ll have two pairs of socks and overshoes?

Is it because you tend to move your hands more thus helping with circulation? I do try various exercises to keep my toes and feet moving (use clipless pedals) but they end up freezing.

It does curtail cycling in the winter which is a bit of a bummer to put it mildly

1. wear wool or synthetic/wool blends. Avoid cotton. Once cotton is sweaty the game is over as they will wick the heat and chill your popsicle toes. That is why they are nice in the summer.
2. two pairs of socks are a good idea, and so is a wool felt insole to prevent the cold sole and/or clips sucking the warm out from your soles.
3. I like loose shoes, either boots or mtn bike shoes with a neoprene overshoe. The boots are warmer. That way the shoes/boots are not constricting your feet, and you can accommodate the extra socks and insole.

I have the same problem when wearing road shoes, one pair of socks and neoprene overshoes and I have my track mitts on my hands, wife says its old age as your heart has to work harder pumping blood to your extremities.

I have the same problem. My feet are too cold and my hands too warm unless I wear very light gloves.

Out again today and had to call it quits after about 90 mins again. Mind you, it was much colder today but still the same scenario.

And @User9609, I work outdoors too but have never had to go through a painful cold hand experience like you say, I`d be a bit worried about that!

Maybe the real answer is to wear my gloves on my feet!

I thought you got the perfect answer in the first reply from @numbnuts that's why I never answered. Have you tried 1 pair of socks?
