All my cycling and running gear goes in the washer on a short cycle (30 mins) with max spin speed a small amount of non bio powder no fabric conditioner then drip dry on a clothes airer or the washing line in summer.

...why non-bio? Because of the temperature, ecology or something to do with the clothes?

Non bio less damaging to the fabric, less chemicals and bleaching agents? And much less irritating to skin IME

IIRC bio simply contains enzymes that break down stuff like blood and lard (what have I been up to?) and operates at a certain temperature, too hot they denature and too cold they don't function.

I don't see how this could be harmful to materials..?
