Is that anything at all to do with this thread, or just a chance to have an irrelevant dig at travellers?
Who mentioned travellers? These people are modern slavers - called Rooney.

Just had a little read up on Rooneys 3 times over..
By rights he should get a long ban 2yr and a re- take driving test..fine is irrelevant to him as it will be hundreds.

A good solicitor may get him a year but he has to be banned as its not going to stop him working if that's the right term for a friggin footy player

What should we do on this one? We can't have a system where the rich go to prison when the poor pay a fine, because that is not even handed. There is little point in a system with income based fines, because the rich just game it.
Statutory prison time, 14 days to 3 months, based on amount, plus fine, based on wealth, could work.

It's a good question and a very tough answer because the very fabric of our society is biased to wealth. But if you want to keep an even hand then perhaps the 'fairest' option is a physical one. Stocks, birching, chopping of hands and executions, get them all on pay per view, there would be a great audience.

and Coleens on holiday

What, again? You can't really call it a holiday when you're nearly always on one. He life must consist of holiday, wag appearance at a football match, put her name to some sh!tty perfume, then holiday, wag appearance at a football match, put her name to some sh!tty perfume, holiday, wag appearance at a football match, put her name to some sh!tty perfume, holiday, wag appearance at a football match, put her name to some sh!tty perfume, holiday, wag appearance at a football match, put her name to some sh!tty perfume.......

Norway, I believe, has the strictest DD laws in Europe.

From wiki:
0.02%. Punishment depends on the alcohol level. 0.02% (fine, but one may also risk a suspended licence if any aggravated circumstances are present.), 0.05% (fine, suspended sentence and suspended license), 0.10% (fine, suspended or mandatory sentence and suspended license), 0.15% (fine, mandatory sentence and suspended license).
The guidelines state that the fine for an alcohol level of more than 0.05% should be around 1.5 months base salary and usually not lower than 10,000 NOK. For 0.02 to 0.05% the fine is lower.
Prison sentences are usually around three weeks to three months with a maximum of one year. The suspension period varies from less than a year to forever, when license is suspended forever, one may apply to get it back after five years.

Effective to a certain extent: if someone is caught speeding, they are fined on the spot (a colleague of mine, from Brighton, actually) was 4 mph over the limit and he copped an £80 fine, IIRC.

Quite a number of drivers take a chance after having consumed 2-3 beers. Very few drive when completely inebriated. Many are caught the day after when they're out early driving to work and still over the limit.

The very real threat of prison does work as a deterrent. Fines are substantial, as are driving bans. Here, as many places, not being able to drive is a major inconvenience. But surprisingly, IMO, is the social stigma of being a drunk driver: then you're pretty much a pariah.

I still think street cleaning is a great leveller for a celeb..or anyone for that matter.
Why not make that mandatory for DD and mobile use etc..
Minimum 100 hrs with a 5am start.. Every day. 3hrs a day
