@T4tomo just be cautious of under eating.

No danger of that - my programme calls for lots of protein. We're following a proper plan, not making it up as we go along.
A couple more lbs off, so now under the 12 1/2 barrier a smidge under 12st 6lb

Good call on the lollies - although I think I'd need to be wary of the sugar..
Do be wary of sugar, it spikes your insulin levels which then makes you hungry again a bit later, your body says "ah sweet stuff" give me more. I used to eat 4 or 5 sweets in the car on the way home and I'd get in and feel starving.

A glass of water or cup of tea / coffee / mint tea etc is better, carrots and plain nuts good too if you have to snack solids.

Since I was disgnose with Coeliac and had to go on a gluten free diet I have had even more sugar cravings than I had before

which is a problem

not helped by a concept at the start that anything I could eat was OK
which got me through the first few months but sort of trained my mind to expect some things that I need to cut down on

I am currently visiting my sister in Devon. I have four or five two-week holidays a year down here. I am very pleased that this is the case but it is a big chunk of the year when there are lots more treats in the house than usual...

I do a lot more than my average weekly cycling distance when here, but I think that I eat more than enough extra to compensate for it!

I am stuck around the 80-82 kg mark and don't like the roll of fat round my waist that comes with it. I must learn to resist the bag of luxury dark chocolates in the Devon fridge...

Its the processed carbs and sugars that will do you in Colin. Try just not having spuds / pasta/ rice/ bread etc with your evening meal. Just have the protein and veg.

There must be protein in chocolates...!

I normally do eat vast quantities of veg and not huge amounts of carbs, but I reckon that I only eat about 50% of the amount of protein that I should.

I must cut right back on 'treats', especially when I am down here. I normally have just one square of 85% dark chocolate a day, which I think is healthy. Unfortunately, I have drifted back into the habit of adding a cereal bar every evening. Those are probably more than 50% processed carbs!

That's interesting - why do you think that is; reduced refined carb intake as you're not eating bread?

While I tested negative for Coeliac I definitely think I have a problem with gluten (or might as well have as I definitely get allergic responses from all the stuff that contains it).

It's so easy for it to creep back into the diet; especially in the depths of winter when the shop across the road has a raft of passable sarnies at reduced cost.. No fun, is it?

I wouldn't have lost 53lbs sinde early March if I kept Penguins bars in the house.
Maybe you should try an actual Penguin - that's got to be low carb..

Yes; it's certainly so much harder when you can't control your environment. Likewise after a "challenging" day at the homestead over the weekend I ended up mine-sweeping the premises and stitching myself up with four stale Choco-Liebniz biscuits found languishing in a hidden biscuit tin

I hear you on the fat roll.. thankfully mine's now receded sufficiently so it's now really just a bit of belly at the front and some around the sides / back; while an actually defined waist is creeping in although it's slow progress. I'm really determined to push this over the line as the last time I had a proper waist was probably when I was about 10...

I'm trying to put IT on.15st 4lbs before cancer, last week 13st 2lbs.I can't get it to stick to me ribs.
If you can find an amenable way of harvesting it you're welcome to some of mine!

No Sunday check-in this week as I was back at home and had no access to scales. As a result I've filled in the gaps with averages from adjacent days, although I did take the tape with me so got some measurements.

On the 7-day mean I've not lost anything (still a shade under 72kg), although last week's values would have been skewed somewhat low with a couple at 71kg dead following a fast (less water weight / digestive system contents). I've not fasted since yet today's daily value was 71.3kg - the lowest I've had since last year so that suggests progress.

In addition my waist circumference has fallen by about 0.5cm since last week, my chest a little while my hips remain the same.

Compared to last year the weight loss is slower, however this is unsurprising as I'm getting in fewer miles and not controlling my diet as much as I should (more carb-containing slips and more food in general). I'd like to do another fast soon although have done a fair amount of strength training (relatively speaking) recently and felt ravenous afterwards, so thought this seemed a legit justification... while I also had a lot to do over the weekend so didn't want to compromise my already limited productivity with preoccupations of hunger.

I'm hoping that if I can push past where I got to last time this might bolster my resolve, while I'm still motivated by looking in the mirror and seeing something who now looks closer to fit than morbidly obese..
