I went through a phase of having lots of pamela anderson on my walls... granted this was the mid 90's
staples were an Ocean poster with robocop ripping the end off the word, the Frontier elite II star map and a door length poster of a rather attractive lady in not very many clothes.
assorted band posters to boot, guns n roses, metallica etc.

My parents wouldn't let me put posters up, they said that it was common. I did sneak a pic of Showaddywaddy up and it lasted nearly a couple of hours before Dad tore it down, he had a bit of a temper did Dad.
When I got a bedsit flat thing, aged 16, I had pictures up of Robert Smith (showjumper not the one from the Cure), Nick Skelton, Several polo players, Clint Eastwood, various other horse and dog type posters.

This one (oddly), and here's how I ended up with it on my wall: my dad was a policeman for many years and was called to deal with a problem at the local ABC cinema. After dealing with the trouble he was having a cuppa with the manager and noticed one of the staff taking down the advertising posters and putting them in the bin, so he cheekily asked if he could have one to take home for his son:

Anyone remember the really, really rickety chair they swung from one building to the other?
