You and your shameless populist rhetoric!
I'm just glad you've changed yours from the upside down shark

We were in a Church with or nieces and nephews.

I was explaining about the various carvings and what they meant.

One of them found a "Green Man" and shouted "THis one looks like you"

The rest, as they say, is History

Which brings us neatly to the point that the meaning of our avatars is largely outside our control. The pata negra piggie is the third incarnation of a porcine device of multifarious intent and uncertain effect, but I like it. It's odd reading this thread on a mobile, where the skin uses people's messenger avatar if they have one, and nothing if not - Cubist is talking about invisible pheasants, and you are addressing Lili Brik as if she were a shark-pig...

I should have had that one!

Mine is when I was a rider for Team Sky.

I'll give you some clues as who my avatar is. He is Manchesters most famous cyclist and at one point the worlds most famous cyclist

He had a velodrome named after him and got a OBE. He was also a member of a local club 'Manchester Wheelers' and even built his own bikes as a buisness.

I think he won his last race at the age of 55 in 1976 and died some time in the 70's ?

Mine is a Citroen Dyane being driven as they should be, ie blasting round a corner on the doorhandles. It's not significant beyond the fact that I've had a long standing love affair with small Citroens, which is still ongoing.

Can't be Reg Harris. He was born in Lancashire and died in 1992.
