The secret in their eyes - a public servant is reliving a murder case from his past, lost love, friendships. Great acting, fantastic Darin, some inspiring cinematography (stadium scene is awesome), very poignant movie with devastating ending (up there with se7en or usual suspects) 5/5

I'm glad I started watching the trailer before going off on one about how poor it is compared to the original!

The Duchess - an entirely predictable but perfectly serviceable biopic of The Duchess of Devonshire which focused, understandably, on her relationships with her husband, her best friend - also live-in mistress of hubby the duke - and his nibs himself. Having read the book, I was a little surprised just how little her gambling mania featured. Googling afterwards revealed that she died leaving debts of around £4million in today's money. On hearing the news, his dukeness is said to have responded "Is that all?"

Interstellar.

Not a bad film, and notable for the rather delicious Anne Hathaway. however, it's ruined by Matthew McConaghay mumbling his lines through the whole movie so you have to concentrate really hard to hear what he's saying, and that absolutely ruins what should be a very decent fillum.

5/10.
Mathhew speaks like the Queen compared to Hardy in Revenant

The Taking of Pelham 123. A reasonable remake of the astoundingly good 1974 original staring New York City with support from Walther Matthau/ Denzel Washington and Robert Shaw /John Travolta.

Reasonable is a very, very generous interpretation IMO.
It wasn't bad. I love New York movies where the city plays a big part: French Connection, Serpico, The Warriors, Dog Day Afternoon, Marathon Man etc. 1970's for NYC at it's scruffiest.

You can not just not mention Taxi Driver and Mean Streets in this

Finished Revenant - Leo gets mauled through the movie, Hardy speaks in some strange language, the views and camerawork are fantastic...and the movie is ultimately like watching TdF - pretty but boring 3/5

"The Ritual", was really looking forward to seeing this as I'd missed it in the cinema. Glad I didn't pay to see it. Gave up with half an hour or so to go. Utter pants!
